You lucky bastard. :) I'm a humble private pilot (night-rated though) and gear handle and RPM lever define the ultimate high-performance complex plane for me so can only dream of flying a fighter/trainer, let alone for a living. The L-39 has always been one of the most beautiful planes in my eyes, if a plane gets any more beautiful then it has a delta wing. For some reason it's also very popular as RC model, mine have so far been electric (ducted fans) but I've got a 60 N class micro-turbine in a box waiting for a suitable plane and it's probably going to be another L-39...

I got to fly with Larry many years ago. I was expecting some high intensity instruction and the man is so chill it allows you to absorb everything he is teaching! Was definitely one of the highlights of my career!

Wow! Just great! Love that plane, flying Lotus Sim model in FSX. A bit underpowered and very basic, but that's what makes it interesting! You've got a great opportunity and managed beautifully! Shame that landing's not shown (did you get to do it?).

What a great aircraft. We want to purchase a L-39. But it is impossible to fly in Germany with EASA license 🙈. Or has anybody an idea how that could work for us in Europe???

There IS a way - stay away from EASA and go to Mother Russia.

can one of these fly from new york to boston and back?

Yup, they even had to transport them from the factory to USSR on trains, since Czechoslovakian airspace provided insufficient lift to just fly them over.

What are you grinning about? Do your same stall routine while you're in a turn instead of going straight and go into a tight turn stall. That should be my airplane.
