Hey Guys, Would be great to see some more stuff around the Robert-era of LA Guns. I caught that lineup a couple times in SF clubs during the time, and they were great. "LAPD" was a cool track and the band was more original--especially with Robert's Stones/Thunders/new wave style. Also, with Nickey Beat it was a much different band. I may have some flyers from the period.

@MileHighTech This is true! He is also responcible for co writing other songs while he was with L.A. Guns. I wish someone would upload the Stoddard original, it's one record that passed me by and I'd love to hear it...

Oh......my...... God.........So, tonight I was watching the hilariously funny 80s movie "Night Patrol" and I was intrigued by the theme song "L.A.P.D.". It is sort of Oingo Boing-esqe, so I got to looking and found out Robert Stoddard wrote it..... Anyway, check out the beginning of the movie if you want to hear this metal song, but in a synthesized Oingo Boingo version....

Would love to hear The Robert Stoddard Band original again. They were one of my favorite bands at the time. If I remember right, Elektra wanted them to record multiple versions of the song for different cities, and when they refused to, the record company lost interest in them.

I was the producer/engineer for Robert Stoddard's Elektra release "LAPD. Great record but nothing became of it.

Was this song ever on the debut album? I thought it was, but for some reason I can't find anything about this song other than this demo. Paul Black singing this song is awesome.
@shakespearia4 жыл бұрын
No. This is a song from their demo before Phil Lewis joined the band. That's Paul Black singing.

I can't recall how I heard of Paul Black, but I found Black List online when it was released in 2005 and LAPD is one of the best songs.

Not true - they did a single deal and LAPD did not get enough interest - it was not released officially - just a promo release for radio. I was his gf at the time .
