17:38 Didn't say wonderland! It said WHIRLWIND! The rest of it says, "Conduct your blooming in the noise and whip of the whirlwind", which is a line of poetry by Gwendolyn Brooks. The mosaic mural is called Blooming by Elizabeth Murray in 1996 who sadly passed in 2007 at age 66. The mural takes its name from the nearby Bloomingdale's flagship store. The artist views the subway as a "dreamy underworld" and also a place to wake up, hence blooming! People use the subway to get to work, so it makes sense! The images are intended to "stimulate thoughts about passage, as does the poetry," which is incorporated into the mural. Another line of poetry says, "In dreams begin responsibility," by William B. Yeats.

If you miss the R160 Q Train (as you mentioned 10:34), I have a suggestion wherein you can also explore CBTC for the QBL. Each morning, there is an R160 R Train that leaves Bay Ridge-95th St around 650 hours en route to 96th St/2nd Ave. To alleviate interruptions in normal service, that train will go back to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue as a (Q) Train. You will need to be at 96th St/2nd Ave at 800 hours for this now rare occurrence. After the train arrives Coney Island, it goes as an (F) to Jamaica-179th St. Suggestion outlined below... (4) to 86th St M86 SBS to End Walk to 96th St/2nd Ave (Q) to 34th St (D) to 42nd St (7) to Court Square (M) to 46th St (R) to Roosevelt Ave (E) to Forest Hills (F) to Jamaica-179th St.

Hi Suprtoe! here is my suggestion Start at grand Central Madison take the LIRR to Jamaica then take the airtrain to Howard beach (You'll need to transfer for Howard Beach at frederal circle) take the A to B-Junc then take the J to chanmbers street and the 4/5 to wall street You can walk to the bull and check it out.

suggestion when the T comes out: A T L A N T 1 C edit: 2nd suggestion is taking the entire 4th avenue line but every time theres a transfer to an N, Q, R, and W you take those trains. take if from forest hills-71st avenue to either bay ridge or coney island

Are you going to Philly for your vacay? If not, at least go on a day trip there by commuter rail, don't forget to order your SEPTA Key card in advance though, you'll need it. I’ve been to New York once as a Brit and rode one R46 and R68A (along other lines) on the Q and honestly I found both to be perfectly fine, can I ask as a local why do you dislike the r46?

They're perfectly fine trains that get you where you want to go. The issue for me is user experience. R46 interiors had fallen into very stark disrepair, though it's gotten better now. But for customers who might not know where they're going, interior wayfinding is sparse and PA speakers are hit and miss.

Dear GoGoSuprtoe, If you hated R46, do you hate the (A) train so much also because it has the most R46s? It never got scrapped.
