L'Amour Fan Part One

Hi Everyone, I’ve still been researching Lopez Station for my next chapter on that series. I took a little break…a couple of years ago I started this story called L’Amour Fan, it’s a tribute to Louis L’Amour, the western author. I’m a BIG fan. I wrote a couple of chapters and set it aside, I do that a lot. My MUSE gives me too much to work on. I have lots of lyrics, songs and stories in progress. I also have lots finished and submit some of them to magazines. I’ve been published several times, but only in small “literary journals.” Some of my stories are here on You Tube.
My dad was a HUGE western fan and passed that to my brother and I. I read a lot, where my brother doesn’t, but my dad did when he was young. I have a very LARGE book collection, with most of them being westerns. My 1st L’Amour book was Kid Rodelo in about 8th grade, I read more but also bounced around reading other books as well.

Since I'm such a BIG L'Amour Fan, and I've known quite few over the years, I'm enjoying this idea. 3 years ago when I 1st started it, I got into the 3rd chapter, then set it aside for something else. A couple of weeks ago I got more ideas for it, including the idea of a video with the photos. My mum actually had me reading from a very young age. She used to sit with me at night, and we took turns reading to each other. These were the classics, Tom Sawyer, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Robin Hood, etc. Later my dad steered me to westerns. 🙂 Part 2 is almost ready! 🙂

Like! Hey David! Cool story! Beautiful place! I also like old westerns, similar to your dad! "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" is my fall time favourites. Bravo David. Well done. Your pictures help me to reflect upon my motorcycling days. I've been through Bakersfield. I wish I had known of Kernsville and highway 178. Your video inspires me to do another road trip. Your dad use to show me his collection of western books, videos, posters etc. when I was visiting California. Great video, David. This is a great idea to share the main character's love for L'Amour and how L'Amour's novels make him think about his father. The different locations shown in the video really help to visualize where Kevin and his family were traveling. Your paying attention to details and scenery helps your audience experience what the characters are doing and seeing. This video is very creatively done: it reads like an e-book.

Well, the mobile phones are awesome when they work, isn't it? A British TV doctor has just died, because he was on holidays in Greece, decided to go for a walk while it was awfully hot, had forgotten his phone at home, got lost and died on that day. Was found a few days later. So sad... Love the name, Louis L'Amour.
