Hi Everyone, Another one in my continuing story of JJ Lopez. The school he attended in Los Angeles was called Suva's Escuela (school) Normal, I couldn't find any pictures of it, so I used the later new buildings. Of course, as I do these I learn more, for instance about the newer buildings becoming UCLA. In quoting the Saga of El Tejon book, you get to know JJ, and his personality. He had a good sense of humor, he makes me laugh with some of his comments. The author, Frank Latta, says JJ re-wrote the pages he had lost in the fire, we'll never know if he missed anything. This video shows that he was educated. Also, for those of you who have seen my El Pencilero video, JJ was also an El Pencilero. No wonder I'm so fascinated by him, we have pencils in common!! He was friends with several celebrities of his time, Gen. Beale, Mary Austin and Helen Hunt Jackson. Jackson's Ramona book was very popular in it's time. The town of Hemet, CA, does an annual play re-enactment of the story. A movie was also made of it with Loretta Young and Don Ameche in 1936. Jackson used Rancho Camulos in Ventura as the inspiration.
My dear friend Cristina, again let me use her AWESOME music, below is a link to her latest video:
