Congratulations to L.D. Bell on Grand Nationals. My band was warming up next them right before prelims, and even the warm-up gave me chills. They were absolutely amazing on the field and they deserved to win, especially after last year's let-down. Congrats again!

i love the idea of the show and to the people who say that bands shouldn't win if they have singing are stupid. instruments are extension of voice the singing makes the show more musical. i loved the music from pan's labyrinth and even told my director earlier this year that we should do a pan's labyrinth show. national's definetly deserved

They don't play because they're presenting the theme of the show, TRANSCENDents, which they did amazingly well. Congrats LD Bell, and also Avon and Carmel, 2 and 3 from Indiana both with amazing themes and performances.

Who the best band in the nation is changes regularly, is completely subjective. Many different kids over the course of years are going to filter through a highschool. It will be all the truly great programs will remain consistently at the top. Duncanville, LD Bell, Churchill, SFA, just to name a few (Texas) bands. Marcus hasn't quite proven themselves just yet

i honestly think we do have a chance of ranking up there with them hey no one thought we could compete with ronald regan high school we only lost to them by .15 at boa houston there was only a 4 point gap between us and the 1st place band were just starting to get thrown into the mix with these really good texas bands our band is getting stronger and better each yr o and by the way i figured you were andrew meaux's brother haha

Just out of curiousity... Have you seen the show in its late season form (ie: BOA San Antonio)? It's a completely show than what was performed earlier in the season at BOA Arlington and UIL. They added an additional 2-3 minutes and the effects into the show.

have you noticed how boa has changed over the years more and more props less music like how ld bell didn't play the last 2 minutes of their show and i know that they were trying to show the whole transcdences thing but still its soo much more visual than musical now

anyone outside of band may not take this into consideration, but they hid under blankets for like 2 or 3 min or so - that was frustrating for us, who actually marched for the entire show. They put on a great show, cant argue, but towards the end of the show there's a whole lot of time where the judges have no technique to evaluate. I still think our show, "Sequenza" kicked major ass. Look me up; bass 4 (of 5) - The Woodlands High School 2007.

@longhorn2190 From what I hear Marcus props are just Styrofoam that is carved into props by the parents. You don't need to hire some Disney professional designer. Just seek out experience in the parents and friends. But props (no pun intended) to bell on winning nationals! Always enjoy all the shows I get to see over the coarse of the year.

That was rude. All bands have an equal chance at winning and that bit about "REAL band" was just mean. The Bell band is no greater than anyone else in talent, it's all about who is cleanest and can put the most emotion into their show. That being said, congrats to the L.D. Bell Blue Raider Band for winning BOA Gran Natoinal Champoinships!

but i understand the whole transendecents thing but you know i just don't like the singing while i was watching grand nationals i noticed that 3 or 4 of the bands had someone singing thats not band its choir and the sad thing is that they are winning you know i love ld bell's band but this years show was not good at all there was no big and loud ge moments i'm still a big fan of last years show and i think they should of won last yr and broken arrow should of won this yr
