Hello @dabikeguru A quick comparison - you are at 2.78 watts per kilo. I use your option 2 at 3.5 watts per kilo. !!!! I can 100% advise you NOT to go with Option 3!!!! That will ruin your day so your choice is 1 or 2. Have you looked at the Joux Plane video?

@@CyclingInTheAlps - thanks so much.. I am going with option-2. Your vlogs on etap are very useful prep. I watched joux plan.. I am sure I will be spent force by the time I hit the foothills of the joux plan. I am going to save some matches for the last one. Aiming to be there at the base around 4 - 5 PM.. keeping 2 hours for joux plan. I got one more question on the descents. Are the descents treacherous like we have in the uk. Many switch backs & gradient ? Thank you so much. 🙏🏼

@@dabikeguru Good choice on gearing however I'm sure we will all be wishing we had a lower gear on the Joux Plane. I've uploaded a video of every descent - have you watched them? Good luck Mike

@@CyclingInTheAlps- Thanks Mike.. I have watched them all. I am sure it must be better than the hardknott & honister descents.

Hi, thank you for the videos. Will be there in 3 weeks :). Not sure about the gears. Now have the lowest ratio 36:30. How do you think, is it ok for this race, or better move to the 36:34? Thanks, Anton.

Hi Anton - I'm using 52-36 11-34 - depends on your climbing ability. I tend to spin. I'm not a natural climber. Good luck.
