Lactobacillus Gasseri is a strain of Lactobacillus, a bacteria naturally found in the digestive, genital and urinary tracts. Dr. William Davis, author of Super Gut found that large doses of L. gasseri provided impressive health benefits.
The process is different from that of conventional yogurt. L. gasseri must be fermented at a low temperature for 36 hours and requires the addition of prebiotic fibre - food for the bacteria. The process generates very high probiotic bacterial counts, far higher than any store-bought or homemade yogurts. The outcome is technically a fermented dairy and a very delicious way to get more L. gasseri.

You said one can use half and half which comes ultra pasturized. Do we boil the half and half as well like you did for the milk?

I am looking through the Super Gut book and Dr. Davis uses 43C /109F as "preferred" temps for the Gasseri yogurt listed in the book.

Hi there, you can incubate it with in a range of approx 38 to 109 degrees C, it does not have to be an exact temperature.

109 c is over the boiling pt of milk . please correct this data as time and milk are being wasted following your info

Hi Luvele, thank you for these simple videos. My new Luvele PP just arrived, waiting for the starter packets to arrive. Have you tried making the Gasseri with yogurt milk? Due to Milk product issues, lactose concerns us even with the good bacteria.

@luvelelife Sorry I meant coconut milk. I see the soft spoke man did s video using cocount milk to make regular yogurt. Also I noticed that he used AROY-D, the AROY-D I could find has Coconut Milk 99.95% and Polysorbate 60. Could you please confirm if this is the same that he used in the video.

Good video thanks. Question: The gasseri packet (same one used here) says one sachet makes one litre. You have used 2 litres but use one sachet. Is it because of the prebiotic fibre (which I also have)?

If is recommended to only use pasteurized half & half (pure and no other ingredients ) for Dr Davis instructions.

Hi! What kind of sweetener can I use for this? I’ve heard that some sweeteners can kill the good bacteria (such as raw honey)

Hi there, its best to add sweeteners after you have made the yogurt to serve.

Hallo Sandra, Dr William Davis Buch, Super Gut ist alles gut beschrieben. L Reuteri Gastrus habe ich in FR an der Grenze bestellt davon 10 Tabletten 1e Liter nachher 2 El Joghurt Bei 38 Grad Celsius L Gasseri Internet bei iHerb, davon ein Kapsel 1 Liter ca. 41- 43 grad C Inulin Bei Lee Sport bestellt.👍

Hi, I am looking into L. Gasseri and L. Reuteri. Was wondering, aren't these bacteria also available in kefir which is easier to make than yoghurt? Thank you.

@@luvelelife No problem! I did a bit of checking around after dropping you this question and I found the answer thru one of Donna Schwenk's podcast. She said L Reuteri is also found in kefir but in lesser amounts. Now you know! Thanks for your kind reply anyways.

Some Kefir’s do have an L. Reuteri strain. There are many L. Reuteri strains. The one that Dr. Davis recommends is the BioGaia Gastrus strain. The L. Reuteri strain that this company sells is a different strain that makes a very sour yogurt with a runny consistency. The BioGaia strain is the best.

You can, but some in the community are now saying its best to make each strain separately and simply eat them together.

Got my 36hr Pure Plus and on Culturedfoodlife they state temperatire between 97 and 100. Not sure where to set it for Gasseri. Could Luvele please clarify

I have the new machine and can't switch between C and F. I also can't select 97 degrees F, it only has even # temperatures, so 96, 98, 100... I can't find any tutorial on the new machine. Please help.

Hi there, our yogurt maker cannot be switched between C and F and our US version can be set in 2 degrees F increments.

It’s 4 tablespoons , not scoops ( scoop is half teaspoon ) prebio for 2 quarts milk , please correct !
