I don’t know if there’s a difference of endurance or strength involved but Wei Wuxian took multiple hits from Yu Ziyuan (Jiang Chang’s mom) without having to spit out blood but Sect Leader Su spat out blood when the whip didn’t even look like it hit him and he was on the ground. I don’t know if Yu Ziyuan was holding back or not but this was just my speculation.

It means I might not be afraid of death, but your not the one deciding it for me anyway! still I'm the boss in my life I decide it. I decide whether my time came or not, I decide how should I die. It's not about death itself, it's about the situation that doesn't fulfill his will. a hero will die in the battlefield willingly with no remorse, he risked his life to save other people's life a lot without fear, but not like a disgraced fell in a trap and has no way to get out!

I think a lot of people forget that JC was a younger sibling. of three. He's always had someone there. He literally became sect leader overnight and suddenly had all this pressure to be a leader and to rebuild a whole sect. BECAUSE EVERYONE WAS DEAD. and he had no time to grieve because suddenly, his brother, the last person from the Jiang sect before EVERYONE DIED, died as well. And he killed him, because he killed his sister. He had to reconcile so many feelings but he also couldn't because he was still sect leader. he couldn't fuck off into seclusion like zewu jun or be a traveller like lan zhan. He had to stay because it was his responsibility and he had no one.

That's just not healthy, ya know? Yeah his parents had issues too, but breaking that cycle isn't impossible. It's fine to say that his past sucks (tbf, it does, there's no denying it), but he needs to own up to his mistakes grow as a person.

I don't understand why some would think badly of JC's character so much so that I pity him. I think towards the end of this scene clearly shows how much JC really do care/love WY (as a bro) but he just cannot reveal it in order to continue to protect WY like when XGY asked why he really came there 1) he didn't know if the others there may fully know the situation yet and 2) XL was there (he's sandwiched between the two people left that he loves but they have an uncertain relationship). He didn't look in WY's direction due to guilt and remorse not because of shame or disgust. Additionally, he came with WY's flute for WY to use so how can anyone say he didn't care or love WY? There were a couple more scenes after this one that I think also made it really evident of JC's love for WY, especially the flashback. :-(

Yes, Jiang Cheng does love his brother Wei. At this point when he enters, Jiang is still blaming Wei for their sister's death. Jiang is pretty mixed up with a ton of unresolved issues. He chooses to wall himself off and after Wen Ning told him the truth about the sacrifice his brother made for him? Jiang Cheng is even more twisted up with remorse and guilt. There is a good man inside, he just needs to grow up enough to better control that temper and mouth of his.

I BE AROUND SAYIN THIS A LOT BUT LIKE i really cherished the scenes when they were at Cloud Recesses. JC was already raised like a tsundere with no communication skills because of his mom 🤦🏻‍♀️but then his entire family was killed and for 10+ years he raised a kid and a sect alone....damn dude.

Maybe if JC learned the truth of the two sound of flutes both in Qiongqi and Nevernight, he might actually treat WY in a different way too. Although shijie's death was because she was protecting WY from that sneak attack, it might help a little to make these brothers' relationship much better

I think JC hates himself more than he did WWX. The fact that he's so strict with his nephew bcz, somewhere he's afraid of losing him like he did WWX. He may have hated WWX at some point, but deep down he blames himself for not being strict with WWX.

I like to think that in the future Wei Ying will ask Jiang Cheng and Jin LIng to help him get over his fear of dogs. That is a rather widely known fact about Wei Ying which any enemy could use against him. It would give Jiang Cheng a chance to really help his brother with something he's never been able to do on his own. With Jin Ling there to help and be a buffer between the two uncles, the process would be easier for everyone. I imagine that at the end of the series when Wei Ying went off on his own for a time? One of the places he might have gone was back to Lotus Cove to try and reconcile with his brother.
