I completely agree with Lucas. While substitute teachers try their best, they can't always match the teaching quality of the official teacher. From a student's perspective, those seven days are essentially wasted. It's not fair to assume parents are overreacting; they just want the best education for their children. Teachers really do get a lot of public holidays, and it's great to see this being acknowledged. Additionally, some people suggest that students can make up for it in tuition centers, but I strongly disagree. Relying on tuition centers because of less effective classroom teaching creates a toxic culture in Malaysia.

Sorry to disagree with you, why do you think missed the 7days learning will affect them so much, if the student has discipline he or she will study on their own plus there are online teaching, prerecorded video for the teaching, flipped classroom. I believe those methods can work. Please make sense, holidays doesn't equal to 100% rest, teacher got a lot of paperwork, various of planning for curriculum & co curriculum plus additional requirements from the management

@@华华-r7e I don't see a correlation between a student's discipline and a teacher taking a holiday during school time. The most important point is that, according to government regulations, teachers cannot take vacations during school time.

@@华华-r7e , if majority teachers behaved like this unethical teacher, the whole national school system collapses. If the teacher think the salary is low, then quit, go do the other profession.
My mom is a teacher. She also agree with Lucas. I myself too. As a teacher, one should set as example by following the rules that have been set. The rule for CRK is to only apply if is emergency matters. Yet, this teacher applied it for her vacation. There are so many other school holidays, why can't she go during school holidays? She herself as a teacher didn't set as example, and her family - her brother still got the cheek to defend her and said what she did was right. WTF.

Not only his brother, but her sister is also quite a handful. spreading messages everywhere, threatening to find out who leaked the info and "have a talk" with them. They don't seem to think they've done anything wrong.

What kind of example are we trying to set? That everything must be black and white? Does your mother tells you the education system is flawed too? If a system is flawed, then people need to blindly follow? Ministry of education set a bunch of non-beneficial so called rules and teacher had to execute it regardless they like it or not, does this means we are advancing to be a better place? For the students and the teacher's sake? (My sister is a SJK(C) teacher FYI) Current education system is so result-oriented that it only breeds fixed mindset student, go check Carol Dweck books or Ted-talk if don't know what i'm saying I'm not encouraging the act of overthrowing a system, break every rules, but if something is not right, we as a human should have the right to question it and amend it to be better

I agree that if a system is flawed, people should question it. However, I believe that every field has its own standards. If you are unhappy with those standards, why would you enter that field? For example, it's understandable that people have high standards for teachers. Many believe that teachers shouldn’t work part-time because teacher need to support to students often require a full-time commitment to ensure the highest quality of education. As a parent, if you see your child's teacher going on vacation while your child's grades are poor, and you know the teacher earned this vacation through a part-time job, would you question whether the teacher is fully committed to your child's education? These are just my personal thoughts , no offences intended.

。。曾有正规军人因为他兼职做grab hitch driver (earn some pocket money by conveying passenger whilst on his way to work in army camp)被举报而遭到国防部处分。
