I recommend ringing excess water out of your hair before applying anything like conditioners, masks, glossing treatment, etc. It allows your hair to soak up the product's ingredients by removing any excess water first so it can get into the hair cuticle and shaft.

Hmmm I wouldnt know for sure. I bet you still get good results with just the conditioner but they are designed to use together.
