@@BuilderCreator I had a stent in for 6 months to get rid of my last one. That was a miserable summer! You can try to explain the pain, but it can never be described adequately. You have to experience it to truly know the intensity.

I’m a fabricator and pipe welder for 30 years now from Ireland and being out around the various factories across Ireland doing work welding pipes in some of the weirdest positions it’s good to see someone on KZbin actually showing what real world welding is all about 👏🏻nice to see you back by the way.
@BuilderCreator Жыл бұрын
Yep, I know they build detailed models of oil refineries so that they can ascertain what HAS to be "shop" welded and what can be "field" welded. Still the contorting around pipes must be intense. Thanks for watching. Glad to be back.

When you have to use jigs and fixtures and robotics to get perfection you end up with Bugattis and Paganis and the price tags for such.

Tip To avoid galvanic corrosion Ensure that all major ground connections are directly to the battery and not through the frame. Sacrificial zinc plates can also be used. Don’t you just love it when the iPad spell checker decides that even though you only typoed one letter a word that is almost nothing like the one you misspelled is correct

Hello, great video as always. I was curious about something though; on the shock absorbers you installed. You said they had a load rating of 750lbs. the point that I saw as the weakest was the shear strength of the 3/8 (i think it was a 3/8" bolt) bolt holding the shock in place. I have seen 3/8" bolts shear quite easily but I have zero idea what the actual strength of those bolts are though. I am assuming that you have already checked this but I just wanted to mention it. Also I have had kidney stones too, they are the WORST. I hope you are feeling better and never get them again.
@BuilderCreator Жыл бұрын
At 12mm (basically 3/8") a grade 8 can resist well over 5000# in shear. I would have to reduce that significantly because of the centering bushings, but still into the thousands of pounds of shear. It all becomes mute however, because the bolt will never see the loads, as the bump stops take any serious hard hits. Always so much to consider isn't there?
@bobolulu7615 Жыл бұрын
Remember that the bolt is in double shear, as it is on 2 mounting surfaces so that will double it's shear strength.
