I was backstage when they played in New York this tour. Had a chance to talk with Henrick (the bass player) and Aron (the drummer) Henrick told me Aron writes most of the Bass parts WILD! Ambassador Jenks

Yes, they like to leave you longing for more! Really good comments, liked it!! I also like this song a lot, it is fun and uplifting and a little crazy, and so well performed (and with Jonah's little miss after the slow part preserved for us, so we see that they are human after all, or maybe it's a trick to make us think so). So maybe "Rock you" next (they have made the audience sing another word instead of "rock", likely what they had in mind to start with, but decided against for some unknown reason). It is a really good composition, easy to listen to, but still very Dirty Loops.

Brilliant trio. All classically trained.met in music school . The funny part Jonas never sang and one day someone asked and suggested he might. The rest is history.

Actually Jonahs parents were both choir leaders, so he was raised with a lot of singing - he just saw himself more as a keyboardist than a singer.

Thanks for another DL react 👍 Short low down on the band: Swedish trio, longtime friends, Henrik and Jonah known each other even from schools days, raised in ‘musical’ households. But Henrik and Aron studied jazz and rock at the music con. Jonah, who started singing in his parent’s choirs at practically age 1, also started playing classical piano at a young age, and later changed to jazz piano. He also sang backing vocals in bands. Singing lead vocals tho came fairly late in his life, when a band asked him to stand in for their lead vocalist who couldn’t make that gig…. When asked what their greatest musical influences are, they’ll list a bunch of things, from rock to jazz to fusion, soul, RnB, film music, classical…it’s all in there, somehow, and then transcended into their own unique style. ‘Songs For Lovers’ was a side project. Four tracks, done in a record short amount of time, during the making of their second CD Phoenix. I just got the Japanese edition of Phoenix, and it includes all four Songs For Lovers as bonus tracks. They’re fun, insane, and sooo good to listen to when driving ☺️ Check out all three of the other Songs for Lovers-tracks: “Pink Power”, “Bitten By The Kitten” and “Old Armando had a Farm”, with only Aron and Henrik playing 🔥🔥🔥 Equally fire are all the rest of their Phoenix album songs. “Rock You” might be a good next one, as would be “Next To You”. Also, should you ever find yourself with lots of time on your hands 🤣, do yourself a favour and check out their first LP Loopified. Their trademark brilliance and insaneness was already there, in 2014 😱 👍🙏✌️

My solution to listening to this short, but genius level piece has been to listen to it literally hundreds of times. I’m a 78 year old professional composer and thrilled to see someone your age who knows some of my favorites from back in the 60s like ELP and I noticed Yes on your back wall, so you are the man. I have all of Dirty Loops music and there are so many I would like to recommend, but the list is far too long so I will just suggest Next To You, Coffee Break, and the song that they made for Samsung out of their ringtone (search Samsung, Dirty Loops). Utterly Amazing. Can’t wait to hear more reviews of them from you because you definitely get them.

Lee, you may enjoy an interview of Jonas with another reactor Jeff with Stratele studios.part 1 &2. Jeff is a great one to follow also. So knowledgeable of music.he does what you do ( which i love) plays the song through before commenting.

Now you have to do "Coffee Break" too, because... it´s w/o Aaron and Henrik but with another monster on Bass + Jonah working the drums ;-)

For me, this sort of falls into the "technically impressive but low re-listen quotient" bucket. For something like this, I'd sort of prefer the controlled chaos of, say, Black Midi. Or Vulpeck for tight (but not overly tight) funk.
@ShiverHinge5 ай бұрын
Yeah-ish. The stuff Dirty Loops did with Cory Wong is more musical, though, for sure.
@Matthewrents5 ай бұрын
Just a technicality here, Songs for Lovers is the name of the group for the duo of Henrik and Aron. They did several with just the two of them, and this one just features Jonah as a guest. So technically not by “Dirty Loops” even though it’s the same members
@@L33Reacts A little extra background: (hopefully true!) Jonah went and did a solo piece "Coffee Break" [which is also one of my favourite tunes (especially while making coffee!) so you should deffo react to that (is Jonah, but other musicians....amazing little tune (terrible lyrics as always but Jonah isn't allowed that talent also...the Gods said no) kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpjJk52Aj72Vibc ] so while Jonah was off doing that, Aron and Henrik did some little tunes under the banner Songs for Lovers, and this one is when Jonah has finished "coffee break" and is back with the other two.. so it's "coffee break is over" :-)
