In every v block replacement I’ve done I’ve had to also clean up the ‘knife edge’ that rests in the block. Sometimes just ‘crud’ but occasionally a little corrosion.

hi, my daughter touched ma LENCO and now the reading arm moves without stopping in the center, can you help me? what can I do? 😞

Can you try remove the counterweight & the balance weight & the front head shell and re-set up them to the tone arm again.

nice job, it´s an alternative , i change the V-block by printed 3D nylon, i think with rubber you got less vibration rigth?
@divisionbreak Жыл бұрын
Thank you Hernan. Yes rubber will have less vibration. But one thing I have realized is that the weight of the tone arm/cartridge stylus will be different from what I set at 175g. So before I play any vinyl records....I will do a warm up by swinging the tone arm left to right, right to left. Up & down up & down...to loosen up the tone arm balancer from the v-block. Otherwise the weight will read 169-172grams.

I would say needed some silicone oil or grease it's bound to bind on the rubber! what type of rubber is it? What's the original one's made of? Wood might be nice actually
@divisionbreak8 ай бұрын
Rubber has always been the "original" material used ever since. No grease no oil please. That will deteriorat & destroy the rubber. Till today I have no issue with nothing added to the V block.

Is there a right and wrong orientation of the "screws" in the balancing weights?
@divisionbreak10 ай бұрын
Nope. So long they are well-balanced whichever...... it's fine.

I followed your video and replaced V block, now i can't balance the arm, anti skating is not working. Always veer to the right.

There can be many issues occured when you are removing any turntable's tone-arm itself. Not necessary the new V blocks causing the problems. There could be cables entanglement beneath the Arm Mounting Collar. Rewind your steps and pin-point the fault. My bet it is the cables below causing the restriction.
