La Candelaria - The Making Of

This is the making of for La Candelaria.
The scale of the model is 1:85 and it belongs at the OcCre series.
The build took me around 5 months. The lighting kit is made by me and there are no schematics.
The cost was approximately 250 euros (without the display case). The varnish is gloss by choice because it "brings out" the wood, it's easier to clean, you cannot have any white spots and it looks better. You can see this as my trademark!

This Video consist of 2 sequential parts, the 1st one is a photo montage from the entire build, the second one is a small video with the finished model.
The music tracks in this video with the order of playing are: Can Can by Offenbach and the Eine Kleine Nachtmusik by Mozart.

If I may could I recommend that you see Chuck Passaro's videos on planking HMS Winchelsea. It avoids planks buckling and shows how to taper them at the stem. I'm surprised at your use of varnish, most of us avoid it due to it's unrealistic effect. A thin coat of oil or clear spray laquer would give better results. Otherwise good effort. It's difficult to produce a good build with most European manufacturers, they haven't improved over the years and are being eclipsed by new properly designed kits (at a price) which is why many of us turn to scratch building. If you haven't seen them check out Olha Batchvarov's videos. She's a professional modeller with easy to follow videos.

Hi Dugan, thank you! The idea is to make something that pleases you and not the others, so i make it my way and i like it. Everyone has the choice to make it the way he wants, this doesn't mean that he has to comply with the way others want. Also Dugan, i make series and i explain every step i do in every model i build, and you are proposing to me to watch Olha's videos. Have you ever watched a full series of mine? And i do not go by the name "professional", i recommend to watch a couple of series, you may learn something new.
