I'm a classical guitarist and have watched this video multiple times as I am currently learning this piece to add to my repertoire, but this guy is the best I've found on youtube as to how this piece is meant to be played. He is a real craftsman of the guitar! So perfect, I hope to one day reach even close to this level.. For now I will just listen and enjoy the beautiful music played by a real master :)

@@sargijapunk Yes, despite the fact that he plays it faster than most other performances I've seen, he still has such mastery of tone, tempo, volume and balance between melody and harmony. Moreso than many who play this piece slower. I do think it's a tad bit too fast but I still I love this performance

Not only is this a brilliant interpretation, but he's an incredibly kind person. I had a lesson a year and a half before my audition at CCPA and he did it for free. He invited us to come to his house for the lesson, and when we arrived he came to the door in gym shorts and a white shirt. He was wonderful, and I got so much out of the one hour lesson we had. He even called us after we returned home to talk about my options. For someone so talented, it's a miracle he's as down-to-earth as he is.

Slow doesnt necessarily mean melancolic, and fast doesnt necessarily mean Happy. The prelude is played astoundingly. He managed to show the motions of the piece without playing it slowly. I prefer this interpretation.Since there are great jumps of distance betwen notes, playing it slowly would kill it.
