Unbelievable. Tommy is the first drummer I’ve seen able to really drive this band like this. Amazing !

Exactly. And think about who else sat on that seat. Tommy is a freak of nature, especially in this performance. If Buddy came back from the grave, he would be digging this...

Love this tune and the approach sounding like Woody Herman’s version with the great Ed Soph on drums Playing this 6/8 up tempo swing isn’t easy Tommy is just great in this with his own twist and a great solo and great DW sound !!

This is beyond amazing. Tommy Igoe is one of my all time favorite drummers. He also drives this amazing band just like Buddy did. I was lucky enough to Buddy's band in concert 2 times and I'll tell ya, this is 🔥 The chart, the arrangement and the playing from every single band member is on another level. My dream would be to see Tommy and his big band one day in person. Would also love to see Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band as well. For being a year since this was posted, I'm shocked at the low comment count although I've see plenty of Tommy's other videos and there's plenty of comments there.

Tommy has some Buddy Rich molecules he ingested while growing up. had to dip his hands and bass drum foot in ice water after that blistering up tempo performance!!!🎟🔥👐🥁😅 8:01

"too fast"....please get some musical education. Songs are played at various tempi. I think someone else mentioned it but here is Maynards version....at a tempo similar to above with Peter Erskine on drums. Is this also at the "wrong tempo"? kzbin.info/www/bejne/kImVfGh3gL58l7M Anyone who listens to Tommy Igoe and the BR band KILL this tune and takes away from that it is "too fast" - especially someone who claims to know "the right tempo" - is showing an ear and a musical sensibility in need of development. "You know, they are killing it but to be honest I like this tune at Chicks original tempo"....no one can argue with that.
