WE were in Rome in 2014, and honestly we walked the same footprints as you did, and practically relived our trip through your videos; we thoroughly enjoyed our days there. We went to one place where we ordered a birthday cake for a young girl who was celebrating her 12th birthday, and you had a choice of any cake as long as it was chocolate frosting, and our cannolo was perfectly wrapped, a red ribbon around it. She told us all the pope's desserts come from her shop. Very memorable trip.

This makes me so happy and sounds SO beautiful!! Rome is truly magical isn’t it? I can’t wait to return. I love going to the local bakery / pasticceria in Italy as they will always wrap things so beautifully, very different compared to Canada. Which bakery was this? 🤗 Thanks for watching!!

@@ladolcelisa We stayed at the Starhotel Michelangelo on Via della Stazione di S Pietro. The bakery was around the corner from the hotel. Bakery was on Via Alcide de Gasperi. The place with the wonderful sweets was called Saliola Giuseppe also known as Pasticceria Saliola. We too enjoyed the beautiful churches; nothing less than works of art. Rome has a vibe like none other. Where people dress up for an evening stroll and enjoy the nite life that comes alive in the piazzas.

What neighborhood do you recommend staying in Rome? We will be in Rome in May 2021. Three women traveling together and would like a VRBO instead of a hotel. Love watching your Rome videos and teaching basic Italian :). Thank you!

Thank you! I also always stayed in B&Bs rather than hotels. I love anything near Piazza Navona or The Pantheon as that is central to everything. Neighborhoods like Via Del Governo Vecchio or Via Dei Coronari are great. If you don’t mind being a bit further out from many sites, the Trastevere area is very nice with great restaurants! ☺️ I hope by May you are able to travel to Italy! ❤️

lindy Bollie Trastevere is fairly close to walk around if you have a nice map handy! It’s quite the walk to the colosseum for example, so it really depends what sites you’d like to see! I also walk everywhere, so be sure to bring comfortable shoes!! 🤗
