I've been learning this, and that section is actually relatively easy it only consists of four different notes (but it totally LOOKS intimidating). The trickiest part I have gotten to so far is 1:37 - I cannot play this at full tempo for the life of me.

Fun fact: I quit piano 3 or 4 years ago but watching La La land and hearing Sebastian and Mia’s theme somewhat inspired me. Also for the fact Ryan Gosling just learned this and didn’t even need a stunt double to help inspired me and this was the first song I played in 4 years. I practiced really hard and achieved my goal and it made me realize I want to start learning again.

I love how in mia & seb's theme, there's a part for each person. The higher notes represent mia and the lower ones represent seb. But in epilogue, only the lower notes are played. And after a period of bittersweet memories, seb returns to the present, being bitter all over again. They both got what they want except each other. Damn i love this

I'm impressed by how little of this uses common meter. And even then, it's not like you simply used 3/4 and 6/4, which are common enough alternatives. This actually goes through stuff like 9/8 and 27/16, and switches meters very frequently. In a world where almost all pop music is in 4/4, that's incredibly impressive.

This is honestly amazing, you're a really superb musician. The arrangement is so neat and beautiful, you can tell the passion you have for music in both your performance and your arranging. Very impressive. This is the perfect transcription orchestral reduction for piano, literally note for note, of what is on the soundtrack. So much polyrhythm throughout that this is just fun to learn and play. It will be the left hand for me in measures 35-38 thought that will be the toughest!
