It was very loud ...even up in the balcony. I had a great time...as it was very different from what I'd expect to "hear" at a dance presentation. I also enjoyed the opening part of the show to Gavin Bryars "Jesus Blood Never Failed Me Yet" . Glad to be able to find them on You Tube to have a second listen to !

yes, me also! two desks being dragged from one end of the school to the other, by the janitor, of course, and a 78 rpm at the end of the track going round and round and round!

"Then the second sound comes in and you have to admit you were wrong"... not talking about a (hidden) third sound waiting in the dark... I do love LMY. I wish he was my uncle or older brother.

how did it sound comparatively.i consider myself a lover of very progressive sound and music but i dont take to well although i realize that merce cunningham's dancers seemed to be enamored to the time they danced to it...

I think LMY's work is as radical, at least as those of Marcel Duchamp or (his artist buddy) Man Ray.

I believe one of the managers at the dance companies actually said that (not Merce Cunningham).

is this really two sounds? sounds like a poem to me
@fasolplanetarium10 жыл бұрын
It is. The two do sound remarkably similar because they were both made with the same instrument.
