About 15% of the global human population lives near enough to active/dormant volcanoes. I think people get what they're given and try to make the best of it. Then you get generations having a connection to the land that they don't want to separate from.

@@suemurray9431 I think it's actually very beautiful there, probably worth the risk by those who first bought land there, especially if it was cheap. It seems to be declared "world biosphere reserve" by UNESCO. It seems as though their main economic income is produce, trade, and tourism. The produce mainly being bananas, with a minority of other fruit/veg that gain and lose popularity over the years. The tourism seems to only be prevalent in certain times of the year. Seems like unstable income, subject to many outside influences including weather. Then, like I said, generations feel connected to it and want to stay, especially if they are the farmers tending to the crops of their family and helping to keep the island from suffering economic collapse. This volcanic event has probably been devastating, not just for loss of homes but loss of crops and keeps tourists (except for those who want to see the volcano) away. But I'm guessing it will still be a very beautiful place, probably worth sticking for.

@@daniellebeechner9735 Prayer doesn't work. Over 1,900 buildings now destroyed, mostly homes. 7,000 people evacuated to other areas. About 60km roads destroyed. Banana plantations, which account for half the island's income, destroyed by either lava or ash. Five weeks of prayers haven't worked.

_Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, was buried and third day He rose again according to the Scriptures_ - *1Corinthians 15:3-4* (The Gospel of Salvation) Believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins and be saved. _For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast_ - *Ephesians 2:8-9* Believe & be Saved! Curious as to why you would make that comment for this video? Am I missing something?

@@beerye3750 yes, you are missing the bigger picture. The eruption of the volcano 🌋 was the supreme will of God. In this way he reminds us how helpless and in need of his protection we are.

Jesus died so he can go home. It’s not a sacrifice if you get to spend eternity in heaven..

@@beerye3750 people that believe in the bible and it’s stories feel comfort in those beliefs. They are taught not to question logic and science but to believe blindly....as I used to for eons before I started thinking for myself. They have their beliefs and you have yours and I have mine and we believe that we are all right.
