Had one for a little over 30 years.....wonderful machine. Then , one day , saw a Professional model, second hand, for 200 euros. It was hardly used. Bought it right away. All it needed was changing all the rubber joints. I still have the old europiccola. I calculated that I made over 35 000 cups of coffee with my europiccola.
@euroespressomachinecompany1492 Жыл бұрын
Older second hand models can be still a good investment if you wish to invest in genuine parts as well as the time to repair and the machine will keep going.

I just discovered this lovely machine. Can someone explain the difference between the europiccola and the professional?
@fastnbulbouss4 ай бұрын
@@emil2600 Basically the same machine , except for the volume of water it holds, one is 0,75 liter, the other 1,5 liter. If you can afford the price difference, I would go for the pro model right away.

Nicely done video. I have owned a Europiccola and it was quite a nice espresso machine. Very similar to my very first espresso machine, an Olympia Cremina. I bought the Cremina new in the mid 1980's for about 360 USD. The current price is outrageously high at about 3,700USD. Pavoni has maintained a realistic price value for their machines while Olympia has chosen the "cultist" pricing. Having owned and used both machines extensively in my opinion go with Pavoni and get a good grinder and you will be way ahead of the curve and making the same quality coffee. PS; I used to hold one hand on the Cremina fill cap also while pulling a shot. Just helps balance.

One precision : the green light is not a temperature indicator, but a pressure indicator. It's turn off at 0.8 bar. And when it's turn off a first time after the machine is on, you need to open the steam valve to release the hot air. There is a second cycle which will replace the air with steam. First run about 5 mins and second run 2 mins. After that you should process a short flush to heat the group and your "Ristretto Queen" is fully ready.

Cómo funciona? Debe de tener dos temperaturas: uno para café y otro para vapor
@jean-marcpoirier9340 Жыл бұрын
Not on this single boiler machine. I've seen modified machines with 2 heating rates, but that's not original. For a ristretto it's a perfect machine. For latte art there are more suitable machines.@@donfransiscoramirez8394

Great little machine, takes a bit of time to master but the results are excellent, only minor point I would make is to partially lift the handle before placing the coffee in the machine to reduce the risk of channeling. Also for me I prefer to preheat the whole basket assembly and use a naked holder to judge the extraction.

We inherited an older model of this wonderful machine. We have no instructions on the proper operation. This video covers most of our questions. The red power switch is understandable. What is the proper use of the green switch?
@euroespressomachinecompany14923 жыл бұрын
Hi Al, the green light comes on when the thermostat is heating up and comes off when the temperature is right and the machine is in pressure. It helps you to understand that the machine is heating up and ready to go when the light is off.

Ive just bought a second hand Europiccolo from the 1970s that has the 1 and 2 settings for the power button. Can the power switch be swapped over for the modern feature? Also, how can I get a pressure gauge for both the lever and the boiler? There is no opening available in the boiler level sight glass

You took the double cup for a single espresso. Is it better to take the double cup for a single espresso?

you can choose either strength, It's about personal taste but the single 9 gram dish is the espresso size or single shot.

is this a feature on new machines or did you f*** the puck up when you lifted the lever... takes much more force and should be done slowly on my old machine at least to prevent it from sucking the coffee up from the puck (or so I've learned)
@_mickmccarthy3 жыл бұрын
I've not actually checked how much of an impact it has, but to be on the safe side I always lift the lever up until it's just about to uncover the water inlet, then pop the portafilter in. I wouldn't be surprised if this was done with the machine off in the video for presentation's sake, hence the apparent lack of force required. Edit: But no, definitely no new feature on newer machines around this. But then again I was doing similar when I first got mine and never noticed any significant issues arise as a result. Need to do a proper side-by-side to check the impact though.

@@_mickmccarthy This is a La Pavoni demo video and i can see it has some editing. It is only a guide. The technique we demonstrate has been very successful, however it is all about the ground coffee that you need to connect with if you want an amazing coffee.

Why do users always seem to push/hold on on to the boiler cap when pulling a shot? Is this a recommended ergonomic movement? Is the central stem of the machine not strong or balanced enough to support the downward pressure without pushing down on the cap?
@euroespressomachinecompany14923 жыл бұрын
It helps to balance the machine with the pull up and down. The machine is robust but not very heavy. Pulling a shot with very fine coffee needs a certain amount of force and holding your other hand on the knob makes it easier to pull the shot.
