La PEUGEOT 204 - épisode dix virgule cinq - BONUS LOST FOOTAGE

Peugeot 204 from 1976... the going to town rig!
Imported into the UK in 2003 and sat in a shed for about 10years...
Found some footage I thought was lost, some rust treatment, fixing and finding leaks, super satisfying jobs to sort out!

Typical on 204s: clutch transmitters and receivers are fragile and prone to leaking, and the corrosive brake fluid ruins the floorpan. You're lucky you spotted the problem in time.

I haven't left any underlay between the floor and the carpet on mine (rubber "carpet" actually, on earlier model-years). Underlays trap damp and the occasional leaking brake fluid. Having no underlay also allows to check the floor condition easily without the car getting any noisier.

Makes a huge difference to noise tbh. I tried it without and it was awful. Agree it can trap moisture though. I think an underlayer of rubber would be a good idea
