In 1970 the rules about cars wee very restrictive in Mexico, where I lived, I was a student an my dad gave me a VW, I did my best to equip it, over 4 years I had it up to 1,800 cc. 2 carbs(solex, could not afford webers) modified heads, (could not afford a hot cam) and it was quite fast, not in top speed but with rather good acceleration, lots of good shows at slaloms, winning quite a lot of them, I was at school but had fun, and many hot girlfriends..
