This is the fourth re-staging of the ballet choreographed by Agnes Locsin, with libretto by Dennis Marasigan and music by Ryan Cayabyab. La Revolucion Filipina is Ballet Philippines' 45th season opening production and commemorates the 150th birth anniversary of Apolinario Mabini, upon whose work the title of the ballet comes from. La Revolucion Filipina was originally staged as part of the Philippine Centennial Celebration and has been hailed for its riveting choreography and theatricality, winning Gawad Buháy awards for Best Original Dance Production and Choreography.
