Around this time, the role of her going on TV, besmirching her family had become boring. Notice how she clowns her husband. Which shows she had no funk of him to begin with.

this interview is so uncomfortable to watch. im reading her book and she says that Gordon used to throw her into situations she wouldnt be prepared for. he probably beat her just before the show. her cheeks look swollen and the way she has styled her fringe so its covering her right eye. at 6:10 she makes sure her hair is covering her face. the way she is acting - like rolling her eyes and laughing is probably because shes near her breaking point. and after being beaten she probably dont give a damn. you can see gordon grit his teeth everytime latoya answers a question like no matter what comes out of her mouth it isnt good enough. before taking an interest in Latoya i would have thought she was just crazy. but it really isnt hard to believe everything that happened to her, knowing who her family are and the time they were living in. so glad she got away and its so emotional reading about the day she did.
@GarciaTepano
@GarciaTepano 10 жыл бұрын
I just noticed that, I think one of the other reasons why she wore so much make-up was because of the bruises, in some other interviews from 1992-94 you can tell her face was swollen, even though she had on make-up but it was obvious. She probably got numb of it and then reached her breaking point

To bad she didn't shout out on T.V. right there on the Geraldo show that she was held against her will and that he was beating her and making threats to have her family killed. That was her chance to escape. That would had been a hell of a episode of The Geraldo Show to remember.

I love La Toya and have respect for her, but I read her book Starting Over, and this interview goes against her accusations of Jack. LaToya claimed that during her interviews, she was to speak in a manner that was appropriate for Jack's standards, or she would be badly beaten. This video, along with the Maury interview, show LaToya speaking against Jack, with him right next to her, which, as she described in the book, would lead to a beating.

Thank you. Some people here are getting the wrong idea about my comments. I am a La Toya fan, but there are some things about her I can't deny. I feel that she was responsibale for the allegations of abuse against Joe. Even in an interview with Matt Laurer, post-Gordon years, La Toya would not deny that Joe was sexually abusive. So, that leads me to believe that Gordon was not behind ALL OF La Toya's choices in the '90's.

You can definitely see the disconnect between the two, I've never seen two people who are supposedly a couple, appear so disconnected from each other. They talk almost as if they're strangers. I thought Donald Trump and Melania were bad, those two seem more like business associates than an actual couple, but these two here, this is amazing. Why she stuck around as long as she did is beyond me. I've seen it firsthand multiple times, people like him don't change until you leave them. Once you leave, that loss makes them reflect and hopefully learn from their mistakes and be better people, but during the relationship, they never change. They may feel guilty, they may say I'm sorry, they may be nice and sweet for a time, but they never truly change their behavior, the same thing will keep happening over and over, I've seen it many times. They need a massive loss to make them see the error of their ways. She should've left as soon as the beatings started, never tolerate that from anyone, not even once. Hitting a woman is something you just don't do, period.

You say he destroyed her career. Take away the playboy, writing a book, & going on TV, telling everything she knew on her family (which is what brought in the money in for them) What did she do before him? Again how can he make her tell something, if she don't tell him? I guess that was his idea for her to go on TV shows, & lay in Playboy with snakes, huh? When she always played with snakes. Around this time her going on TV, didn't bring in ratings no more.

if he was every bit as the monster she described him to be. Do not get me wrong, I DO BELIEVE that Gordon abused La Toya. As you have said, there are photographs and police reports to support that. However, I do think that La Toya does use her abuse to as an excuse for many of the things she has done in the past. She did not want to rat out Michael,but she was behind the allegations of abuse. She would not even deny the fact that Joe was sexually abusive in a GMA interview post-Gordon.

All I am trying to say is that La Toya was responsible for some of the things she now regrets, not just Gordon. Maybe Gordon did force her to do Playboy, and he certainly made her public denounce Michael in '93. However, La Toya was outspoken about her parents' abuse, but now that she is re-united with her family, she does not want to take the blame for that. I am every bit the La Toya Jackson fan as you are, but these are things about her that I have noticed and wish to comment on.

at the end of the day its good that she got away from jack and learned from her mistakes, in which we all make bad decisions which makes us human. There are alot of women and also men who deal with abuse and sometimes their actions dont make sense because their mindset is battered. Your so right my friend. Or at least I feel that you are. I thought it was weak to even talk about the man, after his demise, but say nothing while he was living. Her first book is more honest, than her last book. She tried acting like she is so ignorant to life and how this man used her, and whatnot. The man said it best without him, her career would've went no where. Notice how she got hot when he said that. If this man abused her. She allowed it and like it, because it made them millions!!!

I DO BELIEVE that Jack abused her, but I feel that La Toya has exaggerated the extent to which she was abused, and this video proves it. I sometimes feel that at the time La Toya made the abuse accusations against her parents, she was speaking truthfully, but she used Jack as an excuse for why she spoke out so much, if she now has regrets, and wants to remain united with the family. In my opinion, this interview contradicts her claims of abuse against this man.
