❗This was the last video of the La Vallée des Singes Gorillas. I thoroughly enjoyed watching and filming the troop and their outside forest area is something that I've never seen before. Next week back to Twycross Zoo Gorillas and than just a one off Gorilla troop as I unfortunately didn't get any other footage of that family. Tomorrow an update of the Gibbon baby from Twycross Zoo and then a new mini series of white handed gibbon throughout December 2024. I heard back from Twycross when I wrote them. I just told them that I frequently watch videos about their gorillas. I did not mention the channel name because I did not want you to suffer an consequences. I also let them know that I follow a sanctuary, where they keep an eye on the chimpanzees' diets to avoid heart conditions and diabetes. I also mentioned the stress and boredom and the role that diet plays in that. This is what I heard back from them. "Thank you for emailing us with your concerns. We offer our monkeys and apes a vast and varied diet. This is done through different techniques including, scatter feeding, puzzle toy enrichment, etc. This consists of a different range of fruits and vegetables, however a favourite among our primates is cabbage. Twycross Zoo has a team of passionate zookeepers who are aware of our animals’ dietary needs and strive to meet them." I smell BS.

Thank you for letting me know. I have to agree, I mean we have seen how much they "love" cabbage. As a football maybe, but food? I have ask them so many times. I think most the emails don't even get forwarded to the keepers.

@SloggerVlogger Well, the keepers don't make those decisions anyway. They're likely made by one person who makes that decision for all of the primates. The keepers, in my experience, generally don't have any special training or degrees relevant those animals, but there might be one primatologist on staff who makes these decisions for all of them. The keepers who actually distribute the food or clean the elephant's feet etc., do not always have any special education Requirements

@SloggerVlogger But yeah, that's why I said I smell BS. I'd be curious to see: 1. How are response that someone else gets comparised to mine (is it a canned response) and 2. If the curious coincidence of a number of emails on the same topic pushes them to offer some variety. There are ways to go higher with it, using social media like instagram and twitter, (which I'm not on) to deluge them with some questions and public shaming. And beyond that, there must be some sort of zoo association.

@LindaC616 I will keep on questioning it. I think it's a canned response as well as that's all I'm getting. @A.L.Gardner is having a Gorilla talk sometime next month and she will ask. So we'll see what they tell her.
