LA105 John Deere Transaxle Removal and Reinstall

Great video, thanks. Nice to be able to see inside the transaxle. I have a pretty low hour mower but the brakes weren’t doing much, if anything. Watched a KZbin video (what else?!) to see how to change the pads. Ended up just dressing the pads and flipping them but still didn’t have any brakes. This is when I discovered the brake disc really was not rotating as it should. I wonder if the chain that appears to connect the brake disc to the transaxle broke or a key sheared. (Not sure why either would have happened but. . .) Thoughts? (The mower moves fine and isn’t making any kind of weird noise(s). )

Thank you for the video. Question, is the John Deere D105 transmission as easy to take apart? I need to replace the Driver Shaft, since the Screw broke inside and I have not been able to get it out. Is the Driver Shaft replaceable? Thank you!

Do I need to remove the entire top of the case if I am just replacing the axle retaining rings? They broke when I removed the tires to add tubes.

Locking the parking brake only locks the back wheels....

just scrapped a couple of these spicer 5 speeds that were junk because they had been abused,you can buy good used ones for about fifty bucks so i'm not about to do all that work
