Lab-grown blood given to people in world-first clinical trial - BBC News

Blood that has been grown in a laboratory has been given to people in a world-first clinical trial, UK researchers say.
Tiny amounts - equivalent to a couple of spoonfuls - are being tested to see how it performs inside the body.
While the bulk of blood transfusions will still rely on donations, the goal is to manufacture vital, but ultra-rare, blood groups that are hard to get hold of.
These are necessary for people who depend on regular blood transfusions for conditions such as sickle cell anaemia

Thank You to everyone who donates their blood. I have had a blood condition since I was a baby so I know how much I appreciate all of your kindness. Even during my first baby’s birth, I had to get two blood transfusions. It’s a dream to donate blood one day for me but I can’t since I’m born with my condition I’m always thankful for every one of you. You are saving not only one life from Your precious blood and a family. Thank You very much. May God bless you all and reward You all for Your kindness. ❤❤❤❤❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😭🙏
