Thanks for the video, however nI find the illustration somewhat misleading. The diagram shown that shows the 4 distinct sections, shows multiple lines touching the previous field. Note that if the aim is to dilute the microbe sample, then there should be only one streak (one line only) from the previous area into the new area (one line connecting the previous area to the next area), The audio mentions it clearly but the visual shows multiple lines going back into the previous area. which will produce wrong results and take longer to get a pure culture.

Fantastic instruction. This is off topic but im left handed and seeing other lefties do things looks so weird because ive watched right handed people do things my entire life.

In what quadrant do the isolated colonies appear in the streak plate:
@rael.39363 жыл бұрын
fourth quadrant
@CrankyRayy Жыл бұрын
1st quadrant colonies are confluent, 2nd quadrant colonies are less dense, 3rd less denser, 4th less denserer
@mroosie7488 Жыл бұрын
It actually Depends how heavy the primary Inoculum is. You should have isolated colonies by the time you get to the 4th quarter of the plate

@shirlenecambridge66667 ай бұрын
it’s bsl 2 so you don’t have to

We have worked with S.aureus very often in our practice lab without any real precautions.
