Fallout 1 and 2 laughed at the idea of eating pre-war food saying how it was petrified and then Fallout 3 comes along and goes "Enjoy this ancient food with a side order of Radroach meat!" Nuka-Cola definitely still has fizz when you drink one in-game and in New Vegas everything seems to help hunger and restore HP so.... no idea, we'll never know how that stuff was preserved.

Fun fact: the Crayola crayon factory is in Easton, PA (also famous for being the home of Larry Holmes, former heavyweight champ). I went there on a field trip when I was in first grade (1988). It’s a cool tour if you’re ever in the area! 👍🏼
