I don't normally like or comment on videos, however I really want to share with you that I look forward to your videos every week. It is comforting to see other teachers going through the same roller coaster ride of teaching at a title one school. Your videos inspire me to keep going. :)

Just wanted you to know, I've been teaching over 16+ years and you've given me tons of ideas on classroom organization! I have a 20 year old daughter who is currently in college to become a teacher and I recommended that she watches all of your vlogs to get some of your great ideas! Your channel will definitely give her a head start! Thank you for all you do!😊

You're organizational skills are amazing! Your kids are so lucky to have you! Our lesson plans for the week had to be in the computer by Monday morning and they were scrutinized by admin and our 'reading coach'. Sounds like you are luckier than I was with a better admin. Keep up the great work!

I'm so happy I found your channel!! I'm only twelve, but I had no idea what I wanted to be. I was going from a surgeon, to hair dresser, to baker/chef. Once I saw one of your videos, I know exactly what I want to be. Being a teacher hasn't really occurred to me since 3rd grade, but now I'm super excited! I know I have a long ways to go, but I still can't wait! I even want to teach second grade like you!

my son (10yr old) used to be in private school but is on the spectrum slightly with his ocd and auditory processings disorder, so we are homeschooling him like I did my daughter who is now 23 yr old.i wanted to say thank you for videos like this and I'd love more. I have ocd tendancies as well and we love things organized and you have shown us such fun things and ways to organize around my office (etsy shop owner) and his classroom area. I can't wait to grab your TPT labels. Again, thank you! You are a joy to watch! I do not know how you teacher do what you do! You are more than appreciated, you are inspiring and a blessing! Thank you for what you do and sharing it with other moms like me that homeschool. Hugs!

So I woke up at 5 this morning (teacher problems) and couldn't fall asleep again. So by 6:30, I actually said to myself, "Well, Michelle is posting a new video in a half hour so I may as well just stay awake to watch!" Agree with them being part of my weekend routine! Kind of an unrelated question, but I'd love to know how you implement Rooted in Reading into your reading and writing instruction. We use Journeys (which I'm not a huge fan of), and I'm looking into trying it out next year! :)

I am looking forward to your classroom hacks since I can use all the help I can get. I have spent the year running behind and I am looking forward to spring break......but I LOVE second grade and I LOVE teaching....so if I can get to the end of the year with out melting down....lol....I will have some summer days to get organized to do it all again!

One idea you could use with keeping extra small lunches in your classroom for kids who may forget to bring their lunch is lunchables! From what I've seen, they're not extremely expensive and if you have a small fridge in your classroom or can bring a small cooler it works great!

Hey Michelle! I realize this is super late to offer some advice for your back pain, so hopefully, this will help if it happens in the future! I'm a massage therapist and have also experienced similar pains to what you're describing, and it sounds like you've got a rib out of place. The pain that you get when you breathe or tried to lay on your back is an indicator of this. Hot/Ice packs are helpful, as is trying to pop in back in (though that can be painful) or go to the Chiropractor. Hope this helps! Keep up the great work!

I think the behaviors were off for everyone. My kids have had a rough week in the cafeteria. I was gone one afternoon and all but one lost time at recess. That's SO not typical. Not even sure who these little people in my room were this week. I had the angry parent email as well- blaming everyone else for her child's behavior choices. Yet the other parents I had to contact were super supportive. It just takes that one to make it or break it. Hoping next week is better for all of us!

I understand how you feel about behavior and parents. I have 20 students in Kindergarten. Eight of those twenty students have horrible behavior most days. When they are absent it is a totally different class. I need parents support more than ever before. I have 1 parent that her daughter has tantrums. If I try to get her to go to her seat, she flips out, I literally have to let her be for awhile. Her mom wants her moved out of my class, I love this little girl, I don't think that is the answer for her at all.

Yes, absolutely! I have 2 jars... one that says "Blurt Beans" and one that has rewards listed on it at different heights. Every time my students come up to the carpet, I give them a bean from the Blurt Beans jar to hold on to. If they blurt, they have to give me their bean and I put it back in the jar. When we leave the carpet, any students who did not lose their bean get to add it to the reward jar! Once the beans reach each reward (extra recess, no homework, movie and popcorn), they get that reward! Hopefully that makes sense!

That is the most frustrating thing when you're students would do something and the parents attack you. I know these are young kids, but talk about High schoolers. My teacher would be so frustrated whenever I came to visit her after college class saying students would do this and that. I believe her, but I also observe students who are doing things that they shouldn't be doing. Anyways I was a TA( Teacher's Assistance), I really wish that they had TA's where you are from because it helps teacher hand out paper's or watch the students if you are really busy. I know you are really really frustrated and you will get attack by parents, but you are doing an excellent job as a teacher. If you were the type of teacher who would let students just do what they want and end up hurting another student, then that means you don't love your job and don't care. But you're a really great teacher. Keep it up.

I really like your new labels for the drawers and will be visiting your TPT store. I like your old teacher tool box labels better because they have the pictures.
