Im about to start my CCNA classes at Georgia Piedmont. Your post gave me hope. I have no idea what you do for MARTA, but as a complete "noobie" I'm curious. Mainly because once I finish. I don't think I'd know what key words to search regarding this field in a job search. My mind didn't even think MARTA as a possibilty. I have sooo many questions, but I don't want to be a bother to you.

How was the ccent compared to the network+ exam?
@JohnTheFierce
@JohnTheFierce 5 жыл бұрын
Kevin Richardson In terms of material the CCENT exam has a more in-depth networking approach than the Network+. One must know how Cisco devices work/operate and doing labs is a must when prepping for Cisco exams. Network+ is broader and covers lots more topics than the CCENT, and its vender-neutral if your looking to work for a non-Cisco shop. Overall, CCENT was tougher for me than Network+. Good Luck to you!

ITProTV has very good CCNA R&S series. They actually have two. One is their usual very thorough, in-depth series (41hrs). The other is an accelerated course taught by Todd Lammle himself (21hrs), great if you already have networking experience or just need to go over the exam objectives quickly week before/of the exam.

Really enjoyed this video :) I just recently finished my Network+ training, will be taking that exam hopefully in the next few weeks. I start my Cisco CCENT training course, tonight, followed by the CCNA Route & Switch training right after (got a grant for all this training, *plus* one free shot at each exam, so making the most of it!) Our instructor mentioned we may want to consider building a lab, so that was my Christmas present this year - got a mini rack (12U) with a Cisco 1841 router and Cisco 2960 switch from certificationkits.com. Have a full virtual network going already, and am just starting to figure out how to hang a new computer off the switch and allow it to have Internet access through my home router. You and Network Chuck have been really encouraging and will definitely be watching more videos along the way in these next few months as I train for the CCENT.

What's good brother. Thank you for this video. I have been looking to start a new career. I love computers but have never really explored this side of things, at least not career wise. For the past 2 years I've been about as frustrated as anyone can be financially and have lost a lot, especially these past few months while trying to make it in SF. I lost my girl to guy who's more "financially secure" than I am right now. Now I have to hit the reset button on my life while dealing with the pain of losing someone I thought was in my corner. What's worse is we have a pair of twin boys together. Bottom line I had to find something that would be financially worth pursuing career wise and I hope I've found it here.

Starting small but going to try for ICND1. I know it is not much, if I do pass it then I will go on to ICND2. That is all I need for a CCNA.

Don't sell yourself short. Passing the ICDN1 is a great accomplishment because it takes work. You can do it!

Good info! I'm currently A+ and Net+ certified and working in the local hospital's IT Dept. I'm studying for my CCENT and CCNA with the Cisco Press books by Wendell Odom and Tom Lamle's CCNA book and of course Packet Tracer. Udemy.com is another great source for CCENT/CCNA courses

So I noticed that you said packet tracer does not simulate switching properly and that GNS3 does. Where can I go to get a tutorial on how to set that up properly ?

lateralMove: Don't you think you would be better off making a longitudinal move like getting your CCIE vs a lateral move like getting your CCNA security?
@LabEveryday
@LabEveryday 6 жыл бұрын
Yes if I was in a hurry to get my CCIE you are correct in a way. With my field experience being limited in the area of firewalls I wanted to fill this knowledge void before moving on.

Hello Du'An! I am looking to reload/reset my Cisco 3550 switch and build my first home lab, but it appears Cisco no longer supports nor offers that image. Do you or any of your colleagues happen to have this image? Or any other advice on how to reset this switch? Thank you for any help, Jacq

I'm CCNP and the biggest mistake was to chillax for the past two years by doing VMware. Even though I'm ready to get back in the field I have to refresh my self big time. Now I miss the Cisco bug. My only question is should I re certified??? My hero is still Keth Barker from Nuggets...
