@kevinrichardson74225 жыл бұрын
How was the ccent compared to the network+ exam?
@JohnTheFierce5 жыл бұрын
Kevin Richardson In terms of material the CCENT exam has a more in-depth networking approach than the Network+. One must know how Cisco devices work/operate and doing labs is a must when prepping for Cisco exams. Network+ is broader and covers lots more topics than the CCENT, and its vender-neutral if your looking to work for a non-Cisco shop. Overall, CCENT was tougher for me than Network+. Good Luck to you!
@kevinrichardson74225 жыл бұрын
@@JohnTheFierce Thank you for that information. I just got the network+ cert, which i thought was hard but i scored well. Next I will go for the ccent/ccna in a few months after security+.

I start my Cisco CCENT training course, tonight, followed by the CCNA Route & Switch training right after (got a grant for all this training, *plus* one free shot at each exam, so making the most of it!) Our instructor mentioned we may want to consider building a lab, so that was my Christmas present this year - got a mini rack (12U) with a Cisco 1841 router and Cisco 2960 switch from certificationkits.com. Have a full virtual network going already, and am just starting to figure out how to hang a new computer off the switch and allow it to have Internet access through my home router. You and Network Chuck have been really encouraging and will definitely be watching more videos along the way in these next few months as I train for the CCENT.

For the past 2 years I've been about as frustrated as anyone can be financially and have lost a lot, especially these past few months while trying to make it in SF. I lost my girl to guy who's more "financially secure" than I am right now. Now I have to hit the reset button on my life while dealing with the pain of losing someone I thought was in my corner. What's worse is we have a pair of twin boys together. Bottom line I had to find something that would be financially worth pursuing career wise and I hope I've found it here.
