My gamer is a Ping PLD Anser (the blacked out model) and I love it, but I recently won a LAB Link 1. I gamed it a couple of weeks ago. It felt very comfortable and was easy on the eyes especially compared to the DF 3. I had some 3 putts with it. It felt much lighter than my PLD, and I kept hitting short. I'll be gaming it next week. If I can get more comfortable with the weight and adjust my swing, I think it will have a future in my bag.

Yeah I had the same experience with the off the shelf LAB. When you custom order you can choose a heavier weight! Win Win! Good luck

Put the ball forward for lag puts Or you can de-loft the face a little by forward pressing and then it will shoot out hotter on line.

Got fitted for a new putter, the pro Pulled the Scotty out of my hand tried the Mez did not like the look at all. He then gave me the link, what it dropped about three puts per round. Very pleased

Glad you like it. I’m putting at least a stroke better a round with my custom LINK1 from LAB.

Super interesting video pal. Hello from the UK. I am getting fitted for one of the LAB's. I always played a blade but recently moved to a Ping Sigma Tyne mallet. I went to a shop and tried all 4. DF, Mezz and Max and Link1. In my head i was thinking Mezz for sure but then i rolled a couple with the Link😮 We will see how the fitting goes, but i may grab the Link now 😂 Cheers pal.

Hi Ben! Thanks for the comment. I had the Mezz for a while and liked it but in the end I was missing a blade. I just love my Link now….took me a few rounds to get the hang of it but now it’s just awesome. Good luck!

I am a forward facing putter. I have the DF on a broomstick. I love my putter! Gives me more confidence in my putts, especially from 10' or less.

Hi Timmy... Like so many golfers looking to improve their putting, I became a bit obsessive in trying out different styles. I went to Club Champion here in the San Francisco Bay Area and was actually fitted for the LAB DF2.1. I loved the concept and liked the putter, but looks, and lag putts were not working. So I bought the Mezz.1. Looks were much better but lag putts were still tough. Then I found the Honu Putter.... handmade, Zero torque, like ZERO... it is absolutely crazy good! It's made of bamboo of all things. Because it has no torque, wherever I pick the line, it Always goes exactly where I aim it, Always. The co-founder of Honu actually has a round of golf with 18 Putts!!! Crazy Good.... But, even though it is that good, I really wanted a putter that looked more traditional. It's very large, with a large brass semi-round ring in the back. So... I bought the LINK.1 a couple of weeks ago. It is absolutely Awesome! Sorry for the long comment... But, I encourage Everyone that sees your video to try the Link.1!! I'm making the same amount of putts with the Link.1 as I did with my wooden HONU putter. Thanks, Craig

Hey Timothy! Would you say that the Link is any less smooth or stable than the Mezz? I demo’d a Mezz and really liked the performance. But I did not care for the built in forward press. I feel that it negatively affected my alignment. I’m unable to find a Link anywhere for demoing. If you could share the differences you felt with the two putters that would be a huge help to me! Thank you!

In my opinion the Mezz is amazingly stable and a joy to hit. On perfectly straight putts it was just awesome. I just never liked a mallet putter and in my mind the two long points on the back started to play with my head on putts. the LINK 1 is pretty stable even on miss hits toe/heal respectively but the familiarity of the blade was something I was missing. the LINK is very much the “bridge” between the MEZZ and a traditional blade. It took me a little while to get used to lag putting but now I’ve never putted better. I can’t seem to get my picture of strokes gained to post but here is the info. As you can see my putting with my Scotty was atrocious as I was always fighting the torque. I improved with the MEZZ in my shorter putts but when I moved to the LINK it was a total game changer! LINK

I think the most important thing is you can take a very light grip with no tension in your hands or arms. As you stated, easy swing with concentration on line and pace. No tension.

Thanks Bill! Great advice and I just did a new video giving my 1 year update on my LAB Putter. That is exactly what I noticed as well.

I really like the Link, but I worry the sweet spot is too small. Sometimes on lag putts I get a kind of dud feeling impact and the ball goes much shorter than I intended. So it's definitely been great but for longer putts, it seems much less forgiving
@timmyinMB Жыл бұрын
Yeah I thought that too but I noticed my stroke and ball position would change on my long lag putts. When I corrected this my distance control has never been better. So it wasn’t the putter but it was me! Now I’m dialed in on long lag putts and the short ones are pressure free!

Hi Timmy, I'm in the process of opening a channel of my own. I love to walk when I play and would like to know what did you use to attach your camera the your pushcart? Also what camera? ....Thanks from the Old Man!

Good luck on your channel. I just use my iPhone so nothing special so far. Might change if it takes off but as of now not spending any more on camera. As for mounting. I just use a hand held mount in my umbrella holder on my cart!

@@timmyinMB Thanks for the reply....Currently using an ipad with a tripod and learning how to edit. Like you, I'm not spending a lot until maybe later on if things go well. I did get a collar mic so I don't have to be close to the ipad when talking. Good luck with your channel!

Great question. I went to the PGA Superstore every weekend for like a month and spent about 30 minutes each weekend. You’re right it’s a lot of money to guess.

I'm two rounds in with my Link - absolutely love how square the face feels on putts within 10ish feet. I feel like I can't possibly miss my line. Lag putting has been an adjustment though. I'm leaving everything short. I'm sure that'll come with time.
@timmyinMB Жыл бұрын
Nice! I’m about 25 rounds in and it takes a few to get the lag putting down but nothing better than 10 feet and in! Lag putting will get way easier!

I've had many putters and my Link 1 has been the easiest to hit square. I find holding the putter grip lightly gives you the best stroke too.

I need one that putts both ways as sometimes I putt right handed ana sometimes left, it depends on the break.
@eltonsi Жыл бұрын
You're aware that's not legal right? You can have two putters, one right and one left handed. But you cannot have one club that plays both ways.
@carlcrader1939 Жыл бұрын
@@eltonsi Yeah I can't play my money games or tournaments switching but when I'm practicing I usually can feel which side I am putting best from and play that side. When I practice almost everyday I practice both ways.

For the Link to work, you have to unlearn all your old manipulation tendencies and habits. It's a pretty good feeling putter and i'm excited to spend more time with it.
