At the end of the song he asks himself why he is lying now. If you pertain these last lines to the whole of the song, he DOES cry, he DOES'NT laugh, and he DOES love.

Long time Labi Siffri fan so was delighted when I heard this whilst watching The Holdovers. Also The Wind by Cat Stevens. Woman sat next to me at the cinema asked me if I knew who sang the songs so I took great pleasure in enlightening her. Absolutely adored the film. Very moving but also caused me to laugh out loud on numerous occasions too.

Thank you. Crying actually dies do good even if it doesn't resolve a matter but it helps wash out the pain..the angst or whatever.. bit by bit. And loving may not always be perfect but it's worth the effort if we take our time at the BEGINNING. Most important is to know the love of the Father through knowing Jesus as Saviour.🙏

That must have been special! Can honestly imagine Labbi opening for Frank...the soft melody's trumped by Sinatra and in part because of the highs and lows they both create in unison.
