Some people don't understand why swaddling works. They seem to think restricting them is somehow cruel. The thing they forget is that the baby has spent their entire life up to that point in a very restrictive space. This is just mimicking what they are used to.
@Godwillcome

Yeah, but doesn't the whole process of birth mean they are in a new stage? I'm pretty sure growing and stretching is part of being outside of the womb. Infact, I would've hushed long ago, but there's just so many cunts in one place...

Hell no! I'd never swaddle a baby especially like that..that's a straight ass position try sleeping like that!!! That's cruel.. babies in the womb always have their hands positioned on head or on their chest hugging themselves its soothing!!...u leave them vulnerable by putting them straight like this. This position is bad! I'm sorry u want them not panicking baby wear! Sleep with them..not put them in jackets, this is cruel! Both my boys crawled at 4 months old...turned at 1 month plus.. very strong..learned to use limbs properly.. Swaddling is crazy!!!

@@Godwillcome You're not doing it forever. As they become accustomed to their new environment you phase out the practice. It is just a temporary measure to ease them into the transition.

@@hannafazz2153 Vulnerable to what? They don't have things flying at their face they need to swat away lol. Yeah, I'm sure your boys are strong. Did they also cry a lot during the 1st year of life? That's normal but you can cut down on it by swaddling your baby so they don't have that reflex like they're falling and they don't startle themselves awake. It also teaches better self soothing skills. Swaddling is perfectly normal, safe, and ok as long as you follow the ABCs. The baby is fine as long as they are sleeping _alone_ on their _back_ in a _crib_ . No blankets, toys, or binkies to block their airway. It's fine, ma. Don't spread misinformation or old wive's tales to new moms please.

hmm not exactly but something else. Their are weight blankets.They really help to calm down. Do research for what weight you need and don't buy a too big one. I have adhd and it helps me sleep and get me more chill. idk why!? but it helps.

I am 66 yrs old. I had 4 kids in 6 yrs. I always wrapped my babies in their blankets with their arms inside, all snug and warm. It gives them a feeling of security. Many years ago a nurse told me, if a baby is crying and their little arms are just going everywhere, take their arms, gently and bring them inward toward their chest. It works very well.

Not all babies like to be swaddled. My youngest absolutely would scream her head off if you tried to restrict her by swaddling, did not calm her down, just infuriated her more. My mother said I was the same way so I'm not shocked, it worked well with my two boys.
@k_t530
@k_t530 Жыл бұрын
@@Tinamarie31007eah because that works out 100% of the time, I understand the swaddling isn't a big deal, works well for most kids, some kids it doesn't but to say that you don't listen to the doctor and listen to your gut, that's a bit much. And that's only because I've received contradictory information from doctors. When my youngest daughter first started foods she got this horrible horrible horrible rash as in blister rash took her into the doctor told me she was lactose intolerant, took out all the lactose in her diet, didn't change a thing so a different doctor when she went back in only about a week or two later and they were like yeah no she's not lactose intolerant(this particular doctor told me that no child is lactose intolerant that's a made-up problem because if children were lactose intolerant they would starve as infants even on formula) what it is that she can't handle the processed food we were feeding her. Stop feeding her that and she'll be fine and she was(went to a really natural diet, fresh fruits fresh vegetables, no package foods, no lunch meat, no hot dogs, no processed sweets, we really couldn't even do the baby food or the box baby food snacks because all that was processed). So I would say it's more of a balance between your intuition of knowing your own child and your own history and then the current knowledge of doctors.

🤣🤣 her eyes cross after. Natives use a cradle board and the leather straps begin from chest to feet securing the baby. Nothing wrong with them not moving. They fall asleep quickly and you can stand the cradle board up when they wake if you're a busy momma. ❤
