As a person - a worker - who does not live in North America, the average American must understand that she/he is fighting, through whom they elect to office, for workers around the whole world. America sets global trends in ALL things. You, American, in fighting for your rights, are also fighting for the rights of workers around the world.

Understand this...Democrats are NOT for the working class. They are for themselves. That is whyinflation is high in your country right now.

This is about a dream document that is a wish list. Your employer is not your friend and neither is the government.

In a worker owned cooperative the employees are the employers. Let them work it out amongst themselves when and where to do the work, how to do the work and what to do with the surplus. It out performs traditional enterprise, does not create wealth inequality and foments a more egalitarian, sane society. It will be difficult I know because anytime I have mentioned this alternative people go insane. Seriously

I worked as an installer at Dow Chemical here in Europe over 30 years ago. None of the companies I knew back then had safety regulations as strict as theirs. A helmet, safety glasses, an additional pair of large glasses, and a safety harness had to be worn at all times. You had to use a harness at a height of just one meter. Emergency stations were available everywhere. A safety officer was constantly walking around, checking compliance with the regulations. It was almost impossible to have an accident unless you were grossly negligent. Personally, I found it very progressive and good. Good equipment is an advantage for everyone. And I think the costs are quite reasonable. These are things that should be taken for granted. I live on the other side of the Atlantic. Things are politically heated here as well. But from what I have learned so far about Project 2025, it is very dangerous.

Project 2025 is what the french will call "libertinage" for industries, which is far, far divorced from the laisser-faire economy and freedom within bound of contructive law and policies of society, that is "freedom" or "liberty "

Imagine if firefighters and police had those policies, they could simply refuse to do anything they felt was dangerous or unsafe. Certain jobs come with inherent risk and most people understand that before taking the job. One of the benefits of living in America is you have the freedom to pursue different work. The example shared of the worker stepping into a hole sounds like he needs to learn to pay more attention especially when he even stated the risks. How do you expect sky scapper to get built when the workers are able to refuse due to the inherent danger? Normally you could fire them and hire people willing and able to do the work, but now you expect the company to keep the employees unable and willing. No wonder craftsmanship has declined in quality

People like you get on my nerves so bad🙄 Of course, there are certain risks with the job. Does that mean you don't take steps to minimize the risk of someone getting hurt? Why would you not try to do that? Oh yeah, right, because MeRiKa🥴 We don't do that sorta thing round here cause it's fur pussies. Also, sure, you can get another job, but what happens when all jobs decide to follow that trend? Stop being a push over and stand up for yourself against corporations that want to abuse their power and treat their workers like they're disposable.

You weren't listening or chose not to hear (or care) that it was dark and it sounds like he was not compensated for a chronic injury. Workers are not always informed of dangers. A notorious and despicable case is that of the Port Chicago disaster which also involved racism. Of you probably don't care anyway!
