My husband and I are 73 year old pensioners. We have only just left our jobs, because we simply couldn't carry on working outside in the cold any more. We have both worked since we were 15. They have taken our winter heating allowance and now it is suggested they are coming for our free prescriptions? Surely not. We need quite a few monthly prescriptions now, between us and simply could not afford to pay the prescription costs and still manage to exist. This suggestion is pure wickedness on the part of an evil government, who seem to be testing the water for public outrage. Illegals don't buy houses. The fact still remains, I am afraid. The reason that housing is so unaffordable for the younger ones is because it's all being sat on by boomers that won't move. They are the largest and wealthiest chunk of the UK population we have ever produced to date. Despite this, they have generally taken more out of the system than they ever put in, but they want more and more. They would rather take from their grandkids piggy bank than use their savings, expect a Victoria Cross just because they "worked all their lives" - in reality that was only about 40 years in most cases, less for women. Ever dwindling wages, falling birth rates, something has to give and I'm afraid that if you are over 65, then you will be asked to start funding your own retirement like the rest of us.

Ive just turned 60 and was really glad when i could tick the over 60 box on the back of the prescription as i need two lots of blood pressure tablets each month which would total over £20 per month and im a low earner . Unfortunately some people my age and older have to have 3 or 4 lots of prescriptions a month . As you get older more things go wrong with our bodies we cant help that, Diabetes ,Arthritis ,Asthma, Angina etc are common ailments as we get older it would be nice if. we could get some sort of support from our government. I am Welsh, and have pseudo brain tumour. I'm kept alive by a cocktail of medication. Is that a clever or astute statement to make? The context is very broad and has varying sub categories with differing life situations and cases associated. There are ALWAYS 2 sides to a coin. Please think before you speak in future and your World will be a better place, trust me on that. I contributed to society in research and would often work upto 80hrs per week, before I fell ill. I paid alot in tax and NI per month, it definately has helped towards my medication costs. I think I deserve a chance at living my life, just a bit longer! Dr Robert Taylor.

Well if he does,and I'm on three monthly prescriptions he'll have an NHS breakdown on his hands as most, and myself most definitely, will not bother to take them anymore...... Am on 5 Can I help was born asthmatic with chronic depression severe anxiety which often accompanies asthma plus am now on statins with risk of parathyroid. My gp has seen my decline and said it s directly because of conditions I live in and system. Btw worked almost whole life until severe covid ruined it. When I say work I mean up to triple hours 5 hr bus commutes do the maths on that. Yet still have nothing. Time to go on to next life instead of this suffrance. Why doesnt Statmer get drug dealer criminal plus 1 who has no name on contract back to work. Oh forgot he s a downtrodden demographic so he s exempt his whole life..reckon about 26 years old max.. how many of these lazy wasters does Diane Abbott turn a blind eye to.????

This is something I've been commenting on over numerous posts over several months. As it seems stamer is hell-bent on killing off the OA pensioners as they are a total drain on todays UK society. Firstly pensioners are now living longer than when I started work in the 60's; yes, I'm one of the boomer-babies; and now the work force has diminished, and with less money coming in all these AOP drawing their pension, the whole pension scheme has become unsustainable. This has been known since the 70"s that by 2010 all the boomer-babies are now be going on pension. Now with the NHS is run down that they can't get the health-care they need, especially with the long waiting time for treatment; this happened to my brother-in-law who died of a heart problem while waiting over 6 months for treatment a few years ago. Killing off the OAP means their assets are recycled quicker, their housing can be re-used, the drain on the pension scheme will be alleviated and there would be less strain on the NHS. Years ago you were doing well if you lived to 70 after retiring, and 75 was a really ripe old age, Today 80+ is the normal even with a dicky heart. Next will be a total ban on heart medication for all over 70's and everyone after a second or third heat-attack especially if they become disabled or need special care . Also it's one way to legally have:stamer's wet-dream of total population control. And if the Child Care bill is past on Wednesday removing ALL parents rights over their children, I fear the UK will become a dystopian socialist country, with only immigrants able to access any form of benefit. You think I'm joking, maybe you can't see the forest because of the trees, as an ex-pat living abroad it's as clear as day, and was one of the reasons I left over 50 years ago, and while I'm still proud of my Pommie heritage. it makes me angry and sad to see what's happening to my green and pleasant land of my birth.

Benedict should consider the following: Is the criminal record of TR accurate and fair? Was he set up because he was seen as some kind of threat? He has been victimised for a long time and the 'Authorities' are proven corrupt liars.
