Labour Government Would Be "QUITE EXPENSIVE" | Peter Hitchens x Mike Graham

Mike Graham and Peter Hitchens discuss the economic consequences of COVID-19 and government responses. Mike argues that working from home has not increased productivity, while Hitchens highlights the loss of risk-taking and investment due to panic caused by the pandemic.
Both speakers criticize government policies, including reliance on printing money and raising interest rates, which will result in higher taxation and bigger national debt.
Peter Hitchens warns against supporting Keir Starmer's candidacy due to his ideological views and potential for taxes and speech restrictions.
Peter Hitchens says while he is sceptical about polls, people may begin to think differently when they realise, "a Labour government won't be free at the point of use, but in fact quite expensive!"

Yes, they are far from perfect, but after a few years of Labour, and with a destroyed Tory Party, there is a very good chance, if the socialists don´t cancel elections, that Reform can form a government and that they will have a chance to organise themselves better.

Financial resources are limited (Finance101). When a few at the top arbitrage/steal 85% of all financial resources, the masses are forced into poverty, and money has to be printed, which causes inflation. The ratio of the median CEO's pay to a median UK full-time worker, at 118, was up from 108 times in 2021 and 79 times in 2020, the think tank, which campaigns for fairer pay and a greater voice for workers on company boards, calculated.

Because things have been so good the last fourteen years. Labour can’t be worse than what Britain has got at the moment . At least they have a proper manifesto and I’m all for them being given a chance to implement it. And this Arther Daly character with GBnews Talk presenters as a shadow cabinet is a joke . Grifter’s and fascist all of the Reform party. And all ex Tories.

@@samhodgins9804 read the manifesto and listen to them when they speak. Stop being influenced by the hatefull biased people on tv. I am sure they are going to be running the country after the election so let's give them a chance 🙂.

Same old scaremongering. The reality of the last 20 years is that Labour has dealt pretty competently with global crises they couldn't help. The Tories have repeatedly _caused_ a crisis where there didn't need to be one.

Tories are awful, Labour are awful. How can a party that's not in power 'deal with global crises'. I think you mean they made comments on world affairs. Occasionally.

"The reality of the last 20 years is that Labour has dealt pretty competently with global crises they couldn't help" I'm assuming that you don't mean how this comment sounds because if you do you must be one of the dumbest people in the country. Labour hasn't dealt with any global crisis in the past 20 years because they haven't needed to as they have not been in power. All they have ever done is wait for the Tories to decide on something then complains it's the wrong thing to do but never come up with alternatives. The Covid crisis was a perfect example, when it first hit Starmer complained that the Tories were too slow in dealing with it causing 1000's of deaths. When it came out that we were actually one of the first Countries to respond to Covid Starmer complained that Boris had spent far too much money too soon on responding to Covid. Starmer then accused Boris Johnson of not listening to the experts and going his own way which of course was more bollocks from our prospective next P.M. because Boris had indeed taken advice from the experts and acted on it but then Starmer then found one "expert" that didn't agree with what the Government had done so that was the "expert" that should have been listened to. Starmer also took the side of Hamas after the terror strikes on Israel as did Corbyn yet you seem to be happy at the thought of these clowns becoming our new rulers, God help us. I'm no lover of the Tories, trust me, but what they have done over the years is nothing compared to what Labour is going to do to us and don't forget Labour are the Party that opened up our borders for every terrorist, rapist and convict to openly come here and get treat better than our own people.
