Dear Rishabh ji, I retired at age 60+ in July 2020, and had applied for EPS few months before that, and pension was started (they also paid arrears for two years), you can add that if one does'nt opt for deferral, he will be entitled to get get arrears. All the time I was wondering why I was getting lesser pension than the amount calculated as per commonly popular formula . I wrote a complaint, and was pleasantly surprised that PF office did reply, they gave formula of how they had calculated, and it was exactly same as you had explained. I thought they were just taking me for a ride, but there was no further authority that I could go to, so just left any further persual, sitting satisfied with whatever I had got. You are the first person who mentioned the pro rata rule that too by quoting with proper paragraph of the Pension rules. Great... Thank you... Keep it up... Would be looking for some further advice on PF, if you can share your email ID, thanks

Sir congratulations nice information, I have retired in 2016 I joined in an organization in 1981, my epf was deducted very nominal. But in 1995 govt. announced pensions scheme which was opposes by many trade unions.Govt. announce they will Increse pention by every four years Rs. 400/-because it's not DA link pension. For govt. Average pension is calculated last salary not even average one year. The beurocrates are very smart why they are calculate average 70months salary which is very wrong. Even most of the high court in favour of labour's And case is pending in supreme Court. We please govt rethink positively we vested Rs. 450/-p.m. from 1995to2005 then rs. 650/-p.m. up to 2014 and their after Rs. 1250/-p.m. when I retired in jan. 2016.I got only rs. 2607/-pention p.m. I am getting only intrest on my EPF pension amount. Very unfair to epf contributes.

Very well explained. But I feel pro rata concept is just to calculate the pensionable salary i.e. how to find the 5 year average salary. However requested to explain in case some employee has contributed 8.33% on the entire salary how pro rata concept can be applied. As same rules are applicable for calculating the pension in case contribution is made on full salary. Regards

Hello sir, very good information One thing is missing in this video is that There is cap on contribution made to the pension corpus in proportion to salary caps you mentioned So when there is cap on inputs, there will cap on outputs ( here pension ) I know this as my contribution is fixed to Rs. 1250
