Look at how the portuguese are living. Thats what's waiting for you. Its gonna happen in slow motion tho so it will seem like everything is fine at first. But over time people will start realizing they dont have purchasing power like they used to. The government will keep your brain numb by saying how much they increased the minimum wage and people will blame their poverty on inflation and big companies and be oblivious to the fact that the ones giving employment are the businesses and those are slowly leaving the country. The education system will slowly degrade only to prepetuate the issue. People will stop being able to afford houses, so the government will increase the rules for the landlords, and so the landlords will stop investing in cheaper rentals and so the rental prices will go up. The government will make it super hard to evict people, therefore the landlords will ask for a huge deposit upfront to protect themselves in case their tenant stops paying rent.

Considering this is titled what you'd do differently, I was really hoping for more concrete policy. "More doctors", "more police" is something every party promises, it needs to be explained where the funding for that comes from. The super nebulous promise of "growth" is increasingly hard to believe when you're cutting back on your promises for all the big capital investment projects that would create growth. I wish you'd stick re-comitting to HS2 in full there as it would fit with the "build a better britain" theme, though I know why you don't, though I do think it's cowardly to kowtow to NIMBYs. The GB energy thing here is the only actual concrete proposal here in the whole video which is good in itself but disappointingly sparse, especially given how we don't know the way that entity would function in any reasonable level of detail.

Mate a 3.5MW wind turbine costs £3,000,000 and produces 7,000,000kWh a year, in 2022 to UK consumed 275.24 terawatt hour of energy that is 275,240,000,000,000 kilowatt-hours. You would need 39,320,000 3.5MW wind turbines, as of now the UK has 11,000 wins turbines and produced 75,000,000,000 kWh we would need to we would need to x4000 our current wind electricity capabilities and it would cost (going by my 3.5MW turbine model) £117,960,000,000,000, that is £117 trillion, 960 billion, the current gdp of the UK is £2.2 trillion. HSBC almost doubled its annual profits last year to $31.4 billion (£26.9 billion) and was the top dividend-payer among UK banks, distributing £8.4 billion to investors. Lloyds Banking Group reported significant profits - their annual profits were bolstered by the Bank of England’s rate hikes which crippled many home owners. Barclays, NatWest, and Standard Chartered - along with HSBC and Lloyds, collectively posted pre-tax profits of around £37.4 billion, surpassing pre-financial crisis highs. The banks conveniently forgot to also increase the rates on savings accounts. How apt! Shell achieved record profits, driven by high energy prices and increased demand for fossil fuels in the aftermath of the pandemic and amid geopolitical tensions. Similar to Shell, BP’s profits surged due to elevated oil and gas prices. Most struggled to pay their heating bill during winter. There is one majority who have become obviously poorer and a minority who have become evidently richer. I am no economist, but I know where I’d like this new government to start trying to recover money to boost the economy first!

MPs get a similar threat and intimidation as the rest of the U.K. has been experiencing through extremism for years and crumble. Starmer should be ashamed as the appeasement would make Neville Chamberlain blush. Best way to encourage intimidation is to prove it works and never police or punish crime

it's no good saying what they want to do without at the same time saying how they will do it? where will the money come from? Years ago my claim to fame was heckling Roy Hattersley asking him how the then labour govenment will pay for things. He quite unabasidly said "Oh we are just going to borrow the money". The very last thing we need is an increase in the national debt!

Starmer was DPP 2008 to 2013. This scandal was known by 2010 and he didn’t stop it or frankly do anything. Whilst the man most culpable was the Labour post office minister, Starmer is culpable in his role as DPP. Also the Lib Dem’s (including Ed Davy) were post office ministers under the coalition and they should be held to account as well ( as should any Tory involved) Starmer was the head of the CPS when that organisation chose not to charge Savile - how many lives did that shameful decision impact?

As a young person who wasn’t really taught about politics and doesn’t follow whatever party their parents did, how on earth do you decide who you want to vote for!? I look through the comments on here and almost everyone HATES labour, so I click on a conservative post and everyone commenting HATES conservative, so I start looking at other smaller parties and everyone commenting tells me if I’m voting for them I might aswell be voting conservative as they will just win on votes unless a vote labour.. how do I decide for myself?!
