What a good idea! You could put a little edge on the sides then you could use the resin.

This is what I do, hope I can help! To avoid cracking the baked lace design, try this: after baking and cooling the liquid clay in your mold, leave it in the mold and place the sheet of clay (that you want to apply the lace to) onto the back surface of the lace in the mold. Smooth gently to adhere and then carefully roll the soft mold away from the clay. This should allow you to transfer your lace to your base clay in one piece which you can then cut to size for your project!

Would your lace then be matte (bottom side) instead of shinny (top)?

Las piezas son preciosas. They remind me of the bobbin laces my grandmother used to make. It would not be a bad idea, to add two thin black edges to the two sides that became darkened when using the cutter, which would leave an asymmetrical piece with two white and two black edges. And yes, yes you are, at least perfect in two things: my best KZbinR and the most ORIGINAL. Un abrazo grande

I so enjoy your tutorials, you are so real and down to earth. Question. Is liquid clay needed to fully secure the baked lace to the raw clay. Thx.

Hi if your base clay is soft it would probably be fine.

Very elegant. Yes, they do look like cake, ha ha. I have those pink molds from AliExpress. Played around experimenting like you did but never applied it to anything...yet. You can always put a textured edge on where it's not smooth. I have to do that on most of my pieces. No matter how hard I try, they are never smooth.

Katherine, what if you transferred the liquid clay lace straight to the white clay, and allow the clay to stick to it then pull it off the mold?
@KathrynHalstead3 жыл бұрын
i tried again with it yesterday ... cutting it by hand then placing it on worked ok xx
@freedom65ec3 жыл бұрын
When I did this, I didn't wipe the excess off the mold and everything was joined together. I would have to pick out the thin parts.
@kishajames35272 жыл бұрын
On the Sculpey website, they say to use a baby wipe over the entire piece to wipe off the excess before baking. That would help with the liquid clay being where it doesn’t belong. I’ve only used this mold twice, and the first time the temp wasn’t hot enough, so I have yet to try wiping it off. Maybe give that a try, though.
@freedom65ec3 жыл бұрын
What are you using to wipe off the excess?

I tried and failed dismally 🤣used a similar pink mould, baked for 10mins. Totally cracked. Have to try another mould
@kishajames35272 жыл бұрын
You either need to bake longer, or at a higher temp. My first piece in the gray mold she used all fell apart due to the temp not being high enough. You need to bake for no less than the time stated in the package with the temp on the package. Once I got the temp correct, I baked for 45 min and it worked fine.
