Only one clue was left behind, in large letters on her trailer, written in pink sharpie: Death to Unicorns.

Singing together is a great ritual to have before filming a scene, or performing a play. Group rituals are better than individual rituals, in my experience. I still have fond memories of the guys' dressing room in my college theatre, where we'd exuberantly half sing, half lip sync to _Istanbul_ by They Might Be Giants before starting the show.

That sounds like lots of fun! I can definitely second group rituals being better than individual rituals for a lot of people (most of my friends prefer group ones), though personally I always preferred individual ones- I need time to myself to prepare me for any sort of performance before a crowd. On a side note, if you don't mind me being a bit pedantic, They Might Be Giants just covered the song- Istanbul (Not Constantinople) is actually a 1953 song by The Four Lads. Not that it really matters- it's a good song, and that's what's important.

I think I prefer the group rituals because film and theatre is a team experience, and the group rituals are good for kind of getting everyone together, on the same level, and excited to be working _with_ each other. Whether it's everyone or just a few people, getting a little team bonding in does wonders for the cohesive whole. I remember one play where I was on as soon as the play started, so I stood in the wings during the pre-show music, staring across the stage at one of the people in the wings on the other side, and we'd dance ridiculous dances for each other while we waited for the lights to drop for the first scene to start. And yeah, I know TMBG covered _Istanbul_, but I didn't feel it was important enough in the context of my comment to note it. If all I'm trying to note is the song and the band who sang it, I don't note that it's a cover unless it's contextually important. If I were writing an article, I'd probably note it, and I'd definitely note it if I were writing credits for a video or other piece of art that utilized a song that was a cover. But not while telling a story where only one version mattered (especially as, at the time of the story, I'd never heard another version...and wouldn't for many years, even after I'd been made aware of its origins).

I can easily see Angela's role being expanded, but I thought Lacey was fairly prominent...excited for that part to increase though. I only finished the book a few weeks ago (I read the first half a couple of years ago at the library but only just got around to the rest...), and Lacey was my favourite character. I'm interested in the idea of an alternate view of the story following her perspective, her search to reunite with her friend and make-up, becoming an outcast from all her other friends and forging these new relationships, getting to know all the other characters. Plus that way the story gets a happy ending romantically and you resolve the friendship stuff. Much happier everybody wins except random side character Q.
