Thank god she left flyleaf plus I am proud of her for going solo way go lacey you rock girl 👍❤💗
This song sums up what a Christian life feels like when you're trying to find your way. We struggle with who we are because the world worships a different set of ideals than we do. Where the world glorifies sex, money, power, and wealth, we choose to resist all of that because it corrupts us. Christianity is the human separating themselves from the world, and growing closer to the One that calls us. This is the path we walk, defiant of the world.

I never really viewed the Christians as the "outcasts" before. That's an interesting way of looking at things.
@AgileRelic7 жыл бұрын
Jesus loves the outcasts. He hung out with sinners, tax collectors and touched the unclean. Jesus himself was outcast by the religious leaders of his day. He loved the unlovable and had compassion for the weak. All this knowing he would be killed for our sins. He came not to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved. He called us to be like him. So yes Christians are very much outcasts, although there are many who have missed this and try to condemn the very people that he calls us too love.
@AgileFan07 жыл бұрын
And that's why a lot of people hate Christians because some Christian, who probably meant well, slapped em upside the face with the Word of God, thinking that they were helping the person. I don't know about you or anyone else but how many times were you convinced by someone who yelled at you? I know I tend to dig in when someone gets like that with me. Its a natural reaction. Not many people take the time to breath into someone's life with the Word of God, to get down in the dirt with them so to speak and throw an understanding and compassionate arm around them, but instead use the Bible as a club. I think more Christians should read and meditate on Acts 17:23 where Paul spoke with the Athenians. He was kind and considerate, didn't immediately jump to conclusions but instead walked around the city and observed the people, all their idols, and how they worshiped and then addressed them in a respectable and dignified manner. I think Christians forget that our job is to proclaim the Gospel, not try to MAKE or FORCE people to believe. God is the only one who can change a person. He wanted to include us in His work...His work--not ours. God uses us to deliver the message, He does all the work. People tend to think THEY have to convince people and that's where I think much conflict arises. Well said Agile Relic. We are called to love others, recognizing that God's intervention in our lives was the only thing that saved us and that we were once lost ourselves. That thought alone should humble us all and cause us to have a bit more compassion and understanding for others...and patience.

Arcile The world worships a different set of ideals? Defiant of the world? Christianity is the most-practiced religion, in the world, and has been for quite some time. You choose to resist all of that? Is that why churches take in billions of dollars, every year, and pay no taxes on that money, AND continue to always demand more? Is that why there are pastors that make obscene amounts of money, while those with jobs that actually help society make shit? While it may make you feel better to believe you're walking a different path, it's one that billions have walked, before you. Religion is one of the few things that, for whatever reason, has remained immune to most criticism, and questioning, throughout history. People can do just about anything, if they claim it is in the name of their precious religion. You're not an outcast, walking some less-traveled path. It's easy to believe in an invisible being, called god, that is in charge of everything that happens. It's the path of least resistance. Don't pride yourself on that.

she was born again way before she started Flyleaf. Flyleaf was a Christian hard rock band she fronted and wrote lyrics for. now, she's married and has 3 boys and is still a Christian. she's even coming out with another solo-band hard rock Christian album again, which she says is out at the end of this summer (2021). this song is literally a hard rock Christian song. listen to the lyrics.

This song is clearly about over coming drug addiction lol- Not to mention Lacey has said herself she was an addict and her conversion to Catholicism to god helped her get clean It’s a bit stereotypical but im sure you have seen a few cinematic images of people that are drug attics or homeless. Its not that uncommon for being poor and an addict to go into for various reasons. Being poor or homeless they tend to squat under highways or in vaguest houses that don’t have light ergo its dark . Hard drugs can make a person seem like there are in deep sleep while the drugs are in effect hence "I can't hold my head up in this dark room anymore” "but I need another fix tonight" pretty self-explanatory IMHO but a fix is typical slang for another helping of whatever drug said person wants another helping of. Fun fact- Certain Drug are addicting but they make you feel good and sometime even see amazing things but long usage will do horrible things to your body in extreme cases kill you. The peace they give is false but attractive, beautiful, that will rot your body“the most disgusting lies are dressed in beauty that will rot" All the in between stuff is her asking god to help her
