With about 9+ TB of external and internal storage, I have 4 very old LaCie drives, I replaced the power supply on one years ago, other than that performs flawlessly, the only manufacturer that I have used with nor recorded failures.

So what about using this in raid 0 between two computers being a software raid? Is this compatible with both windows and mac?

Liked it, but miss the noise-sound. Is it ok, or does the enterprise-HDD make the same noise as normal HDDs?

Compact Flash slot but no Betamax port? WTF?
@m3chan1zr6 жыл бұрын
Haha I get the joke but all of my pro-level DSLRs use compact flash still. Rather have that than SD.

I almost thought this was an old bit of hardware and commented on it being a few years late in release. But I went out and looked at the stats. Glad I did! I've always wanted to test SSD's in that to see how well it performs.

Hi Can we connect and use the Lacie 2big Dock Thunderbolt 3 device with 2 imac usb type c cables at the same time?
@sweetwater5 жыл бұрын
Hello, Painter! The second Thunderbolt port is meant for daisy-chaining other devices in order to not eat up all your ports on one device. If you have a need for a specific storage set up, give us a call. Thanks for the interest! Jorge Padilla, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1731, Jorge_Padilla@sweetwater.com

why not usb 3.2 and have an hdmi port for tv ?
@VueeyLe4 жыл бұрын
Even with USB 3.2, I don't think you'd get anything beneficial out of this unit. Due to the nature of Thunderbolt, it seem like it can only output DisplayPort 1.2 signal for displays which is great for monitors, but cannot connect to a TV without a DP

I wouldn`t by another drive from Lacie ever. I have two of their drives sitting after spending hundreds of dollars buying them from Sweetwater. The first drive started acting up shortly after i purchased it and with all respect to Sweetwater the best tech support out there they couldn`t fix it. I went out thinking it was just that one was the problem and bought another and it was even worst and comes on when it felt like coming up. Funny thing I wasn`t compensated for either drive. I also spoke to apple and they tried to fix the problem but they informed me to quickly get another drive and move the files before I lose them. I did bought a 3rd G Drive from sweetwater to migrate the files but both Lacie drives are bugging out during migration and messing up the files. Please be informed these Lacie drives automatically enabled permission and wouldn`t save changes to your previous project or add new files. The built is solid and it runs smooth and quietly when it is running fine but there is something going on internally. Not sure how this one will work out but beware.

I have a Lacie drive as well 6tb which is now failing to do time machine backups. Initially it ran fine but I’m getting pretty worried about losing my data and being in Africa support is very much nonexistent
