I just want to come here and say thank you. I was wearing a 50's style dress for new years and was looking for inspiration for a hair style. My hair is thin, straight and really smooth, so any curls I've made in the past would never stay in regardless of products and method. They would be gone within a few hours. I never heard about this type of styling product before. I followed this video and got the most beautiful curls that stayed in. Now it's the day after and they are still beautiful and bouncy. I will definitely use this method again 😁

Out of all the tutorials I've watched for wet sets, this is by far the most helpful!! I've only done two wet sets so far, the first a section of hair didn't dry all the way and the last time it turned out pretty well but keeping the style longer than an hour was difficult seeing as I didn't have the right products. But! The rags through the rollers is genius, I had a bit of trouble sleeping well on the rollers so I cannot wait to give it another try!

Can you do a video on what you do with your hair at bedtime , showing how you preserve your beautiful set ? I would truly appreciate that . I do 1940's styles , but I just love your channel . You are just such a doll , I could watch you all day . As a Canadian gal , I thought it was cool that your lovely vintage scarf was from Banff Alberta . Love this video! So many questions... What do you do for your 2nd day after wet set? Do you reroll, but, without setting lotion? Or just gently rewrap in a silk scarf? I guess what I am getting at is what do you do the next few nights to keep your hair nice between washings? This video was perfect timing, as I did my wet set last night and I had been struggling all day to figure out these curls as they were not wanting to go into waves no matter how much I brushed. I have now got a 40s style with combs and feel so much better. Thank you!!!

My mother used to do pin curls every other night before she went to bed. I remember watching her intently, though I've not been able to really recreate the look. My hair is not as full as hers, alas. I did my hair in rag rollers once, and the result was comical - bone-straight for the first inch near my scalp and then poodle for the rest of it. I have better success with a curling iron, but I always worry that the heat is damaging my hair.

Love this hair do, I do wetsets, although I struggle bc my hair holds curl best if I start with really wet hair, foam rollers give me nicer curls but take forever to dry but pincurls are such a pain to do and get all the ends in 😅 and even then I struggle to get the curl to hold a fluffy 40s settle very long, by the end of the day it's usually more of a 60s wave 😂

Hi Laci Fay I have long straight hair and it dose not hold a curl well.so my question is what setting lotion do you recommend I use ,I only wash my hair 1to 2 times a week. Preferably just once.
@Musichowler4 жыл бұрын
This was really interesting to watch. I'm guessing you sleep in the curled, but I'm curious why you dry your hair first. Wouldnt the water in the hair aid in the curling? Is the setting lotion kind of like a hair mouse? I ask because my hair is very fine and goes flat easily if the products in it are too heavy. Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you 🥰
@LaciFayTheVintageGirlNextDoor4 жыл бұрын
Oh I’m so glad! Yes I do sleep in them. I find if my hair is too wet it doesn’t fully dry by the morning. The setting lotion is better than mousse for setting hair because it gives a soft hold. You don’t get crunchy curls. It’s also lighter and doesn’t weigh down the hair, that could be better for your hair type.
@misneachail4 жыл бұрын
So dang cute!! I've been trying doing more wet sets lately, since blow drying hair when it's super hot is the last thing I want to do. Have you tried Motions wet set foam? I tried Lottabody concentrated 1st, but couldn't figure out how much water to mix with it to get a good hold.
@LaciFayTheVintageGirlNextDoor4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I’ve only ever used Lottabody. I really like this coconut oil kind. You don’t have to mix it with water at all if you don’t want to. It gives a really great hold. My set usually lasts at least 3-4 days or more.
