But the gen xers are the ones that brought the millennials into this world. and now the millennials have all the cancel culture babies. I am 19 and in college right now and am quite ashamed to be lumped in to my generation. Phil is right on the money. I have been blessed to grow up in a Christian home and see what awful things that others are doing. Yep, totally agree! I am a gen X, and respect and discipline were physically taught when I just did not get it via verbal teaching. You name it, it was swatted across my backside and backs of my legs. I do not consider myself in a category of a child of physical abuse. It made me who I am today. I can exercise self discipline, and I still show respect to any elder I meet in my day to day life. When you see an older person's eyes light up when you say "Hello, sir/ma'am", is amazing. Many will just stop and talk for spell in the middle of the grocery store. I raised my son this way also, and he, while being *extremely* introverted, will, all on his own, ask an older person struggling to reach something on a top shelf in a store, if they need help, and if he can get it for them. To see a person's face light up when this young (20's) man helps them, and is respectful to them, melts my Momma heart. I made mistakes raising this young man, but I stressed respect, and held strong to discipline, and now all grown up I can look at him and know he turned out right, and I can stop worrying about that part of his life. 😊

Our children grew up in the 80s-90s. Went to church every Sunday. Chores Saturday morning before playing with friends outside on their bikes. Actual exercise! We didn’t have to spank our kids, but, if needed, we would. Not abuse. I’m not talking about FEAR. Parents who cause fear are wrong. Discipline can be just not allowing them to watch TV. It depends upon their age. Discipline according to age. You don’t spank a 10 year old. You take her free time. Discipline should be appropriate to age. Common sense. Jesus is king of kings and Lord of Lords ✨🙏

Dr Sandy that statement is so true & sad. One of my dearest friends, raised her 4 children. She wisely divorced the father of her older 3, he messed his life with drugs & alcohol, taking 2 of the kids down with him. My friend helped raise those 2 kids’ 5 children. All by different fathers. Now she’s in her 60’s & raising her great grandson. Cuz her daughter, doesn’t want either of them & her granddaughter knows she can’t do it Sad sad cases. The baby boy’s great grandparents are adopting him & the chance of them living to see him reach the age of 21, isn’t very good

Sadly, this is true. I haven't seen my son or grandchildren in years. My heart is broken. He wasn't brought up that way. My husband is a retired Marine. He taught him respect and I don't know what happened. I feel that I won't see them ever.

Every single thing said is 100% true. I just talked to my kids the other day and told them I'm not here to be their friend and let them do whatever they want. My job is to discipline and make sure they grow up to be a Christian, hard working, good parent when they're older. To many of their friends come from broken homes with no moral values.

Years ago my grandfather taught me that when it comes to kids, when you tell them to do something, that they do it right away, they do it all the way and they do it with a happy heart. Start it from day one and the happy heart part is much easier.

Hi Phil. I agree completely . It would be a better world, if a group of Elders ran things. There should be Elders on every continent, a group of say 12 Souls with life experience, teaching and sharing knowledge. Things are going to get really bad on this Earth. It's truly a sad time.
