Leo camps and explores the Lackey Family cemetery in Marrowbone creek, Lenore West Virginia.
Hard to find but so worth the effort! we managed to add 50 people to find a grave and added even more than 50 pictures of headstones. Plus filled 13 photo requests! This is so rewarding.
We couldn't find much info for some reason on anyone.

That is a very beautiful old cemetery, but it's sad seeing all the unknown graves. Hearing good ole preaching and singing at a get together at a mountain top cemetery is unlike any other you'll ever hear. Great video! Thanks, Leo and Heather!

Definitely a win, Leo. You are a good hearted man. Thank you for the video of this beautiful cemetery. Sad in so many ways with the large number of children. Something must have swept through the area at one point or maternal healthcare was non existent. May they all be resting in peace.

I love a good cemetery. My cemetery days started as a very young child….we used to drive up to the Red River as it joins Texas and Oklahoma to visit with my mothers siblings as a family matter some probably 6 or 7 times per year. Her parents were buried right there beside them. And I understood cemetery etiquette very early. I think most of the people buried here are just grateful that someone thought of them at this late stage.

I'm from NC, I dated a girl from dingess WV. She went to school at the old Lenore high school that set on the hill there at an intersection, can't remember the highway, wanna say 65 or something like that. Her brother lived over the pawn shop in Kermit, he's passed on now as of around 5 yrs ago. But I've been thru the tunnel, over the tunnel, been up by the lake, enjoyed lots of time out at the park, the deer would walk right up to you. She is a McCloud, they also got a family cemetery, been there a couple times to bury her brother and her cousin. Same thing up a crazy built dirt Rd, beautiful place to have family rest. Enjoy halls work, I've only been subbed for a couple weeks now, biggest thing was, I wanted to learn more of the place she was from.

I'm enjoying all the comments. When my dad and @eugenelackey7649's dad received the deed to the cemetery it was grown up extremely bad. They worked extremely hard to get it to where it is today. My dad loves that cemetery more than just about anything. We typically cut and clean twice a year. Before Memorial Day and before Labor Day. Two church services a year are held there.

I grew up across the street from a small little family cemetery. I used to go And read the headstones all the time. One of my aunts would joke around with my friends when they would spend the night And tell them not to worry if I go missing in the middle of the night Because I would be across the street shaking hands with the dead people

That is intriguing about all the "Known to God" graves. Were they all children? I wonder if there was a disaster/tragedy and they wanted to keep the burial site a secret to avoid notoriety, etc. Or was it a particular religious group that doesn't believe names on the stones? Also the one grave with missing dod for the wife-looks likes she must've just been buried there with the flowers over her grave? Takes time to get the dod printed on the stones. I love listening to your hiking and cemetery videos while working as I would rather be outside myself. Have a great week! ❤❤
