The Potters’ graves with roofs are called grave houses. This is a tradition brought over from the old world. It is also tradition of some Native American tribes.

One of my favorite episodes. My coal mining family is from McDowell Co, WV. Back about 1915, my grandfather was considering moving to where this episode is located. He moved over alone and worked about a week. He wouldn't move his family there because of the wild living and violence.

Love cemetery walks. Found a headstone that had these words inscribed on the back, “thanks for stopping by”. I smile every time I think about that. It was a married couple’s grave. Must have been nice people.

It’s amazing when you think that these markers represent people and their life stories and that you saying their names maybe the only time it has been spoken aloud since they passed

I absolutely love when you all do these kind of videos. We all walked the earth, had life and dreams. I graduated Williamson High School in 1983. I went my junior and senior year. I lived there several years but now I'm in Ga. My Best Friend was Tonya Ball. Her Dad's name was Early Ball. My Mom her Husband(Billy Lampkin (YOGI)and my older son still live in HUddy, Ky. I was home last December . I seen the Williamson Video loved that too my old stomping grounds... Boyeee has it changed in the way of businesses and people .

When Leo is reading the dates for Willard and Mary Mullins and seems astonished that they both died the same day, as he obviously doesn't know why they did...(but I take it that it's Heather that is narrating the deceased's stories across the screen as Leo is talking about the headstones), I got so tickled because everyone but poor Leo knows why they died the same day( at that particular time anyway) but we all know that Leo will find out eventually!😂😂

Thank you for the story and taking us to the gravesites. So sad to see so many children and babies - makes one wonder. And yes, you both surely need a camper or in the very least a converted van if you're traveling around as much as you two do.

This was very moving. Thank you for the research, pictures, death certificates, and stories. I appreciate you reading the sayings on the headstones. Heartbreaking to see so many young children. And as you said the 1892 massacre did not benefit anyone, and yes, they are people, not just names on paper. The blessing is to know that many of these people are rejoicing in Heaven to have no more sorrow, sickness, death, or tears, forever with Jesus and their loved ones.

Murdered man cemetery? I would say that it lives up to its name! 😮 Beautiful country, I am glad you two had a good time camping 🏕 The cemeteries were very interesting, as were the stories about some of the people buried in them. The children graves, were very sad, thank God for the advances in modern medicine that we have today. Thank you very much, Leo and Heather, for another outstanding video. Thank you Heather, for all the time you spend doing research. Take care

Thank ya'll for another great video. You never stop to think of the lives, the stories of those folks when visiting a cemetery, until you hear the stories. These stories on these folks are known because of ya'lls research and bringing these people to life, if only for a moment. Thank you guys so much for what ya'll do. God bless ya'll and ya'll stay safe on your travels. Heather, im glad you could get in a cemetery without it raining. Seems like the last several videos iit was raining, beginning to think you were cursed. LOL. God bless ya'll.

Somehow I missed this wonderful video guys. Some Kentuckians believe that Jenkins is the end of the earth for some reason. I believe right across the border is Grundy, VA, a coal mining town. Whitesville, a city in Leitcher County is a very pretty part of Kentucky. Several years ago, I conducted several workshops with the teachers in the County. Heather, I must say that I truly love the research that you do for the videos. You do some "real digging" to find out information. Interesting cemetery!!! Thank you for this awesome adventure. I was curious to know if you are aware of a couple out of Charleston that have a KZbin channel now and are visiting all of the waterfalls in the state? They are interesting.

The grave of Delana Elizabeth Killen, maiden name Bentley, is a relative of mine. She was married to Morgan Killen 1858-1925 who was son of Alf Killen & Lucy Whitaker Killen. Alf has a Civil War reputation. Morgan Killen died in 1925 after being shot by his own son, who later was pardoned by the Governor. Many memories.
