My wife and I visited the McCoy home place a few years ago. The Guy that has the museum and his wife are some of the best people you will meet. He is a wealth of knowledge. We absolutely enjoyed every minute we spent there.

I am so proud and happy that these two families have put an end to what the history holds for them. Now.....just love and friendship. Honor and respect. Enough pain. To the Hatfield, and McCoy families, thank you for coming together and putting an end to that history. We wish you the very best for your future. May your families flourish! Respectfully.

Her life was so tragic but I think the final tragedy was she was not laid to rest with her daughter or that her daughter has never been reburied next to Rosanna.

I have never been to West Virgina or Kentucky and I enjoy looking at the scenery in each video as much as listening to you both narrate as you walk along. With the leaves off the trees, it is easy see and appreciate the rolling hills and valleys. I live in the Adirondacks of extreme upstate New York which is rural mountain landscape too.

@@thehillbillyfiles You are welcome, I enjoyed watching this video. May I ask a question? Another viewer made an interesting statement, about Rosanna not being buried next to Sally, or Sally not being reburied next to Rosanna. Is there a real reason this was never done? Or maybe no one just thought of It? Thank you again.

QUESTION: Seeing how y'all have physically been to ask the grave markers, is there ANY record of Ellison Hatfield having a son named Cotton?? I ask because we've all seen the Kevin Costner docuseries and seeing how in the TV version, Ellisons son Cotton was the catalyst for Sarah McCoy getting hurt and their house getting burned down. I may not be looking in the correct places however I can not find anything about cotton in the real world. So I'm wondering if Costner just added that in to mitigate to atrocities committed by the Hatfield family that day...

A timeline would make thing easier for us old men JUST one question 11,12, 15 kids how they feed this kind in crew? ???????? My wife and I have tried to add up just how many these two families could have sent out into the world. Hey Gun fire this time of year in the South is a noble thing. Hello! Thanks for the compliment! Yes I will try and point out timelines for the families. They have sent many many descendents into the world, it's impressive. They both had farms and hunted. Very interesting story. Is there a way a family tree can be made or is there a site other than for one to go online n build one? I am starting to get them mixed up!! LOL I'd like to be able to follow along when u mention someone, I can look n see who is related to who n how they all end up with cousins etc. I'm sure that would be a very long research project but I was just wondering if u had a Tree or where I could find one. Love when u both talk about the story. It is just fascinating ..... Thank u for sharing all this with us.

The movie series Hatfields n McCoys with Kevin Costner, really made Randall look hard headed and selfish in his pride as why he lost most of his family and turned out to be a drunk and burnt himself up in the House in the end, Devil Ans lived a nice long life w/5000 mourners at his funeral
@thomasromano9321
@thomasromano9321 23 күн бұрын
If the movie "Hatfield and McCoys" is accurate Devil Ans Hatfield was a mass murderer. For one thing, he ordered the execution of the three McCoy boys who were shot to death, taking the law into his own hands. Devil Ans went so far as to participate in the Battle of the Grapevine, not to mention who knows what other killings. Hatfield could have stopped the feud a long time before it finally ended with the execution of Cotton Top Hatfield. Devil Ans could have sought out Randall McCoy and made a concerted effort to end the feud if he really had tried which he didn't. Of course Randall McCoy could have equally sought out Devil Ans, but neither made an effort. I cannot understand why Devil Ans wasn't arrested for murder and executed for his crimes. 5000 people at his funeral?? Why do so many people remember him? He was a hardened, merciless killer.

Big Eif Hatfield ties in to one of my Rice cousins further back. Abraham Rice was my 5th great-granduncle, and his daughter Anne married James Riley Hatfield about 1808 in Washington Co. VA. James Riley seems to be off Joseph Andrew Hatfield, son of George Goff Hatfield . There's a lot of confusion on Ancestry. James and Anne eventually settled in Marion County, TN by 1830, and their son George Hansford Hatfield settled in Alabama. Another connection on another line of my family was Frances Holland who married Jeremiah Hatfield (1750-1832) abt 1780 in Wythe County, Virginia. Jeremiah is supposedly a son of George Goff Hatfield and Mary Toms, and brother to Ephraim "Big Eaf" Hatfield.

The Howard involved feud of Clay, Kentucky was the longest and bloodest feud; which climaxed with the assassination of governor in 1901 by Jim Howard. Well, it's an unique way of feuding, by skinny dipping. McCoy was poor and Hatfield had money.

Life's daily hardships back then, were hard enough without adding all that Roseanne had to endure! It just goes to show how falling in love with the wrong man can completely ruin a woman's life. It's a tale as old as time ... RIP Roseanne & Sally
